The New Jersey Devils have won the 2017 NHL Draft lottery.

This was a draft of big movement. The Devils moved from a projected fifth spot to first, but they weren't the team that saw the biggest jump. The Philadelphia Flyers were projected to pick 13th overall, but they have moved up to the second spot. The Dallas Stars will round out the top three despite being projected to pick eighth. Meanwhile the big loser was the Colorado Avalanche, which had the best odds of winning the draft, but will instead select fourth. The Vancouver Canucks will round out the top five while the expansion Las Vegas Golden Knights will pick sixth.

The Ottawa Senators and Colorado Avalanche will play two games at the Globen Arena in Stockholm, Sweden next season.

The two NHL squads will play back-to-back games on Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. "Like Canada, Sweden is a great hockey nation. The Ottawa Senators are proud of our rich history in drafting accomplished Swedish players including two of our hockey club's greatest captains, Erik Karlsson and Daniel Alfredsson," said owner Eugene Melnyk in a statement. "Our return to Stockholm, Sweden is a truly unique opportunity to showcase the Senators and NHL brands to a larger worldwide audience." It's believed that both teams will head overseas a couple of days early and will have a break when they return.
