The Boston Bruins are reportedly among the teams that have interest in Michael Grabner.

They're hardly alone in that as a recent report suggested as many as 10 teams have interest in Grabner. That said, the Bruins have simply done a "check-in" on him so far, so their level of interest might be tentative at this point. The Bruins are in the running for John Tavares and that's obviously going to be where their focus is right now. Not that the Bruins' ability to sign Tavares is likely going to dictate what they do with Grabner, but it is worth adding that the two were teammates with the New York Islanders for five seasons.

Jonathan Bernier might be a target of the Boston Bruins.

Bernier is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. He did alright with Colorado last season, posting a 19-13-3 record, 2.85 GAA, and .913 save percentage in 37 contests. The Bruins are in the market for a backup goaltender and Bernier would be a solid choice for that role, especially given that he could hold his own as a short-term starter option should Tuukka Rask deal with any injuries over the course of the campaign.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney believes Ilya Kovalchuk has significant interest in Boston.

"We’ve spoken to their camp. We have not met with them in person, but we’ve spoken and had numerous conversations with his representatives about where they’re at. We feel we’re a team he has strong interest in and we’ll see where it goes between now and however long he takes to make his decision," said Sweeney. "We’re in a position to explore it. We talked very specifically about our roster with him and where we see him fitting in, and what he brings to the table. We’ll be excited to continue to explore, but I don’t know necessarily where it goes." The Bruins have consistently been cited in reports as one of the teams in the mix for Kovalchuk. It's believed that the Los Angeles Kings, among others, have offered Kovalchuk a contract with Vegas and San Jose also reportedly pursuing his services. Kovalchuk can't sign a contract until July 1.

The Los Angeles Kings are reportedly believed to be among the teams that have submitted a contract offer to Ilya Kovalchuk.

Kovalchuk can't sign any contract until July 1 though. In addition to Los Angeles, it's believed that Boston, Vegas, and San Jose are also pursuing his services. Previous reports also linked the Blues and Red Wings to Kovalchuk, so perhaps they also still have a chance.

The Washington Capitals' home opener for the 2018-19 campaign will be against the Boston Bruins on Oct. 3.

That's when Washington will raise its banner as Stanley Cup champions. Then the work of defending that title will begin in full swing. The Boston Bruins will be a tough opening opponent for the Capitals, but Washington did sweep its three-game series against the Bruins last season.

The first will take place on Sept. 15th in Shenzhen and the second will happen on Sept. 19th in Beijing. This is a follow-up to the NHL's 2017 preseason series in China, which featured two games between the Los Angeles Kings and Vancouver Canucks. This is all happening ahead of China hosting the 2022 Winter Games.

The Boston Bruins are reportedly the frontrunner in the Rick Nash sweepstakes.

The Bruins have the prospect pool to make it work in addition to control of their first round pick, so it's more of a question of if Boston and the Rangers can agree on a price and if they make the cap situation work. Nash isn't the star he once was and it wouldn't be surprising if the final price for him feels like overpaying for his services. That being said, he is still a significant offensive threat and one of the most appealing forwards available.

The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning have both reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Ryan McDonagh.

That said, neither team has made a compelling offer to the Rangers yet, according to The Post. McDonagh is signed through 2018-19, so even though the Rangers are expected to be sellers at the deadline, they aren't in a position where they need to move their captain. As an aside, McDonagh is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

The NHL has postponed Thursday's contest between the Panthers and Bruins, which was going to be played in Boston.

A severe winter storm is the reason for the decision. The NHL hasn't rescheduled the game yet, but plan to announce the makeup date later. The contest would have started at 7:00 p.m. ET.
