The Boston Bruins are reportedly the frontrunner in the Rick Nash sweepstakes.

The Bruins have the prospect pool to make it work in addition to control of their first round pick, so it's more of a question of if Boston and the Rangers can agree on a price and if they make the cap situation work. Nash isn't the star he once was and it wouldn't be surprising if the final price for him feels like overpaying for his services. That being said, he is still a significant offensive threat and one of the most appealing forwards available.

The Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning have both reportedly expressed interest in acquiring Ryan McDonagh.

That said, neither team has made a compelling offer to the Rangers yet, according to The Post. McDonagh is signed through 2018-19, so even though the Rangers are expected to be sellers at the deadline, they aren't in a position where they need to move their captain. As an aside, McDonagh is currently day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

The Florida Panthers and Boston Bruins will play a makeup game on April 8.

The NHL postponed a contest between the two squads that would have been played on Jan. 4th due to severe weather. As was the case with the original game, the April 8th contest will be hosted by the Boston Bruins. The start time is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. This will extend the Bruins and Panthers' season by one day and mean that each squad will now finish the campaign with a stretch of three games in four days.

The NHL has postponed Thursday's contest between the Panthers and Bruins, which was going to be played in Boston.

A severe winter storm is the reason for the decision. The NHL hasn't rescheduled the game yet, but plan to announce the makeup date later. The contest would have started at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Boston Bruins are believed to be one of the teams that will pursue Trevor Daley should he become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Daley has often struggled in terms of Corsi/Fenwick, but he's still a top-four defenseman capable of recording 30 or so points if he stays healthy for a full season. The veteran has also won back-to-back Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh, so that experience will naturally be of value to any other team he goes to. The Detroit Red Wings are also believed to be a major contender for Daley.
