Rams waived FB Sam Rogers.

The Rams also cut RB Lenard Tillery and signed DT Dalton Keene and S Charles Williams. A sixth-round pick last year, Rogers spent his rookie season on the Rams' practice squad.

Cowboys acquired Tavon Austin from the Rams in exchange for the No. 192 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

The gadget player goes from one of the most crowded receiver corps in the league to arguably the least. The overpaid former first-round bust couldn't find a role in Sean McVay's resurgent 2017 offense but that shouldn't be an issue in Dallas. The Cowboys need bodies at wideout. Austin can still resemble a game-breaker on film but rarely on the actual field. For his career he's averaged a running back-like 8.7 yards per catch. He was used more as a runner than receiver in 2017. Even if a bigger role materializes, Austin is unlikely to have 2018 fantasy value.

Free agent OLB Connor Barwin will visit the Cardinals this week.

Last month, Rams GM Les Snead said the team was attempting to re-sign Barwin, but nothing has happened to this point. Barwin recorded five sacks across 656 snaps last season.
Apr 9 - 10:29 AM

The Rams could re-sign CB Kayvon Webster.

Webster's release was a cap move, saving the Rams $3.5 million. He's played under DC Wade Phillips the last three years and remains a strong scheme fit. Webster should eventually be brought back at a lower salary.

Rams released CB Kayvon Webster.

The move saves Los Angeles approximately $3.5 million in cap space, which the Rams needed after Ndamukong Suh's deal put them over the salary cap. Webster became expendable this offseason when the Rams acquired Marcus Peters from Kansas City and Aqib Talib from Denver. The 27-year-old is still recovering from a ruptured Achilles he suffered late last season. The Rams could be open to bringing Webster back at a lower cost when healthy.

MMQB's Peter King reports the Giants' "likely" asking price for Odell Beckham is two first-round picks.

King also believes a pre-trade contract agreement paying Beckham more than $18 million per year would be required for any trade to come to fruition. King is convinced the Rams are currently the NFL's most interested team in Beckham and would stay involved in trade talks for as long as they go on. ESPN's Adam Schefter has also indicated he believes the Giants' interest in trading OBJ is genuine.

The Boston Sports Journal's Greg Bedard passes along word from a "Bill Belichick-friendly source" that the longer Rob Gronkowski goes without committing to the team, the chances of the Patriots trading him increase.

This is pure speculation, but it isn't the first time we've seen it, as MMQB's Albert Breer hinted at it as well in a piece on Thursday. Both Breer and Bedard are ex-Patriots beat writers with plenty of connections to the team. Gronkowski has yet to inform the Patriots of his 2018 plans, and some think Belichick could use that as fuel to trade the star tight end, who may be tiring of playing at a massive discount in New England. Bedard mentions the 49ers and Rams as suitors should Gronkowski become available. 29-year-old (in May) Gronk is the fourth-highest-paid tight end at $9 million per year and has two years left on his deal.

The New York Daily News' Gary Myers reports Odell Beckham "has told a couple of Rams players he wants in."

The Rams also clearly want to acquire Beckham and reportedly have put the No. 23 pick on the table. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Giants are looking for "at least two first-round picks," however, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Giants would have to be "blown away." That asking price could change if Beckham says he will not sign an extension, but right now it is unclear if the Rams are willing to give up a king's ransom while also agreeing to Beckham's lofty contract demands. It seems absurd for the Giants to trade Beckham, but there is enough smoke around this story to take it seriously.
Mar 29 - 9:38 AM

The New York Daily News reports the Rams are interested in trading for Odell Beckham.

The Daily News also reports the Giants' asking price is a first-round pick "plus." The "plus" would seem to indicate a deal could get done without multiple first-rounders. Newsday reported earlier Monday the Giants prefer to keep Beckham to trading him but it's beginning to appear the trade talk isn't purely smoke. Absent a truly landslide haul — which already appears off the table — the Giants will lose any Beckham trade.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Rams "appear to be the front-runner" for Ndamukong Suh.

That appeared to be the case once the Jets bowed out of the sweepstakes, but Rapoport adds the Titans and Saints are still in the running. Suh was cut by the Dolphins two weeks ago.
Mar 26 - 8:41 AM

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports it's "less than a sure thing" free agent Ndamukong Suh signs with the Jets.

The Jets have emerged as one of the top landing spots for Suh. The Rams still look to be the favorites, but the Jets have the most cap space and made Suh the largest offer. New Orleans and Tennessee also remain in the mix.
Mar 23 - 5:25 PM

Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz reports free agent Ndamukong Suh is "intrigued" by the idea of playing on the Rams' defensive line alongside Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers.

ESPN Rams reporter Alden Gonzalez adds that Suh remains in Los Angeles Tuesday evening and is scheduled to have dinner with the Rams tonight. He's expected to visit the Raiders on Wednesday if he makes it out of L.A. without a contract. Schultz also reports Suh "likes" Saints DE Cameron Jordan and wouldn't be opposed to playing alongside him in New Orleans. If Suh wants to win, it would seem the Rams and Saints are his top two suitors to this point.
Mar 20 - 9:59 PM

Free agent RB Mike Davis is visiting the Rams on Monday.

Despite a fairly successful run as a starter late in the season, the Seahawks declined to tender Davis as a restricted free agent, allowing him to test the market. He would compete for a backup job with the Rams.
Mar 19 - 12:30 PM

Yahoo Sports' Jordan Schultz reports free agent Ndamukong Suh will visit the Rams.

Suh has already visited with the Titans and Saints. Suh told Schultz he realized how much the Titans have to offer as a playoff team with a formidable defensive line and the same can be said for the Rams. A combination of Suh and Aaron Donald, who combined for 16 sacks and 134 total pressures last season, would solidify the Rams' line with two disruptive presences versus both the run and pass.
Mar 18 - 11:57 PM

According to NFL Network's Mike Silver, free agent Terrelle Pryor is drawing interest from the Browns, Rams and 49ers.

Pryor flopped in Washington but could benefit from a change of scenery. He topped 1,000 yards with the Browns in 2016 but would be hard-pressed for targets playing behind Jarvis Landry and Josh Gordon. The Rams need a pass-catcher to replace Sammy Watkins while the Niners are looking to add weapons around Jimmy Garoppolo. The former quarterback turns 28 in June.
Mar 14 - 6:54 PM

Jets agreed to terms with CB Trumaine Johnson, formerly of the Rams.

Johnson was the top free-agent corner on the market after spending his first six seasons with the Rams. New York whiffed on Kirk Cousins but still find someone to spend a large chunk of their salary cap on with Johnson. A 6'2/213 press-man corner, Johnson has had bouts of uneven play over his career, and the Rams didn't seem interested at all in bringing him back. Johnson was Pro Football Focus' No. 69 cover corner out of 121 qualifiers last season.
Mar 13 - 7:04 PM

Chiefs signed Sammy Watkins, formerly of the Rams, to a three-year, $48 million contract.

The deal reportedly includes $30 million guaranteed, a massive number for a player with a concerning health history. With strong-armed Patrick Mahomes now under center, GM Brett Veach made noise about adding another speedy receiver to play opposite Tyreek Hill, but it is still surprising to see the Chiefs making this big of a splash. Watkins seems to perfectly fit what they were looking for, however. He has averaged over 15 yards per catch in each of his first four seasons, and 13 of his 25 career touchdowns have come from 20 yards or more, although he also showed his ability in the red zone last season. While Watkins would seem to be a good real-life fit, it is fair to wonder how much fantasy value he will return in an offense helmed by a first-year starter with Hill and Travis Kelce demanding targets and Kareem Hunt in the backfield.
Mar 13 - 8:16 AM

Free agent CB Trumaine Johnson admitted Sunday that he won't be re-signing with the Rams.

In a social media post, Johnson thanked the Rams and his fans. A big hit as a third-round pick in 2012, Johnson appeared in 85-of-96 games in his six years with the team, making 62 starts and picking off 18 passes. The Rams are moving on with Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib at corner, while Johnson will be a hot free agent this week. He's the top corner available and has already been linked to the Jets, 49ers, and Raiders. Johnson just turned 28 on New Year's Day.
Mar 11 - 10:49 PM

Giants acquired ILB Alec Ogletree and a 2019 seventh-round pick from the Rams in exchange for 2018 fourth- and sixth-round picks.

The Rams just signed Ogletree to a four-year, $42 million extension in October but evidently didn't like his fit in DC Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. L.A. was gashed by the run last season, and playing Ogletree and Mark Barron, a pair of converted safeties, at inside linebacker was a big reason for that. Both are extremely athletic, but they were too light and got pushed around by offensive linemen. The Rams recoup the fourth-rounder they sent to K.C. in the Marcus Peters deal with this move and clear a bunch of cash off the books for future long-term deals. Linebacker was a massive need for the Giants.
Mar 7 - 4:01 PM's Matt Zenitz reports Tre Mason has told teams he is ready to return to the NFL.

A third-round pick by the Rams in 2014, Mason had a promising rookie season, but his career went off the rails following multiple run-ins with the law during a time he was reportedly dealing with mental-health issues. He did not report to training camp ahead of the 2016 season, was released in March of 2017, and has been out of the league ever since. Still just 24, Mason might get a look if he can prove he is in a good place mentally.
