Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland is visiting the Colts on Thursday.

It is the second time he has visited the Colts. Breeland appeared close to signing with the Chiefs yesterday -- he was spotted watching practice -- but the two sides obviously could not work out a deal. The Colts need as much help in the secondary as anyone.

Free agent CB Bashaud Breeland was seen at Chiefs practice on Wednesday.

ESPN Chiefs reporter Adam Teicher noted that it's unusual for a visiting free agent to attend practice without a deal in place, but apparently Breeland has yet to put pen to paper. Breeland has made the rounds over the last week, checking in with Cleveland, Indianapolis and Oakland, though his presence at Wednesday's practice would suggest he's seriously considering signing with Kansas City. He'd be a good get for the Chiefs, who are looking to replace Marcus Peters (traded) and Terrance Mitchell (left in free agency).

Free agent Bashaud Breeland has visits with the Raiders and Chiefs next week.

Breeland met with the Colts and Arizona after his three-year deal with the Panthers voided, but this is his first interest since May. The Raiders have talked up Gareon Conley as a starter but Breeland would be an upgrade opposite Rashaan Melvin, while the Chiefs have question marks at corner after trading Marcus Peters. Four months removed from foot surgery, Breeland is likely going to have to settle for less than the $8M annually he landed earlier this offseason.

Free agent Eli Rogers will work out for the Chiefs on Sunday.

Rogers was nontendered by the Steelers after January ACL surgery. He has visits lined up with the Chiefs, Browns, and Raiders and expects to sign soon. Rogers is ahead of schedule in his recovery but will be a candidate for the PUP list wherever he lands.
Jul 21 - 10:26 AM

Grand Valley State RB Martayveus Carter will work out for the Chiefs on Thursday.

This will be Carter's first known workout since going undrafted in last week's Supplemental Draft. If signed, the former DII Offensive Player of the Year would give the Chiefs backfield depth behind last year's NFL rushing leader, Kareem Hunt.
Jul 19 - 8:19 AM

Former Jets, Bucs, Patriots, and Chiefs CB Darrelle Revis announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.

The former No. 14 overall pick in the 2007 draft, Revis was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and four-time first-team All-Pro pick. Revis turned 33 last weekend and spent eight seasons with the Jets across two stints and spent one each with the Bucs, Patriots, and Chiefs, winning Super Bowl 49 with New England. Revis picked off 29 career passes, but quarterbacks were so afraid to throw at "Revis Island" during his initial six-year stint with the Jets. He's a lock for the Hall of Fame and will likely see his name in the Jets' Ring of Honor.
Jul 18 - 10:51 AM

Free agent OLB Tamba Hali admitted his playing days are likely over.

Hali, 34, was released back in March after spending 12 years with the Chiefs, the organization that made him the 20th overall pick in the 2006 draft. He missed most of 2017 with knee issues and then barely played last season, as he was phased out of the defense. During his prime, Hali was one of the best edge rushers in the league, amassing 89.5 career sacks, with 55 of those coming in a five-year stretch from 2009-13. Hali was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time second-team All-Pro. He'll likely retire with the Chiefs on a ceremonial deal.

Virginia Tech CB Adonis Alexander visited with the Jets.

The Saints, Colts, and Kansas City also met with him. It confirms Alexander's league wide interest after 26 teams attended his Pro Day. Alexander (6'2/195) has starting traits but was suspended multiple times at Virginia Tech and his measurables (4.6 forty) would have ranked at the bottom of this year's class. Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Alexander a third-round supplemental grade.
Jun 23 - 6:21 PM

Chiefs waived/failed physical RB Akeem Hunt.

It appears the Chiefs are moving on from Hunt instead of trying to stash him on injured reserve via the waived/injured designation. Hunt ended the 2017-18 season on injured reserve with an ankle injury. He touched the ball 12 times in 15 games last season and pitched in on special teams. A fourth-year UDFA, Hunt turned 25 in February. He will try to get healthy and hunt for reserve work.
May 8 - 5:15 PM

Chiefs waived DL Rakeem Nunez-Roches.

It is a somewhat surprising move considering the Chiefs tendered Nunez-Roches as a restricted free agent in March. Perhaps they will look to bring him back at less than the $1.9 million he was owed.
May 8 - 11:08 AM

Chiefs OL Cameron Erving will compete for an interior position.

Erving has the ability to play all five positions but doesn't perform well at any of them. It's possible he wins a starting spot over LG Bryan Witzmann, but Erving will likely open the year as a utility sub for a team that's lacking quality on their interior line.
Apr 20 - 12:51 PM

The Chiefs hosted free agent OT Cornelius Lucas.

It's the first interest in Lucas this offseason. Lucas has appeared in just six games since 2015 and was limited to one spot start with the Rams last year. He would be a depth signing in Kansas City.
Apr 11 - 5:02 PM

Colts signed CB Kenneth Acker, formerly of the Chiefs.

Acker played 209 nondescript snaps for Kansas City last season and visited the Seahawks along with the Colts this spring. In Indy, the 6'/195 former sixth-rounder will provide depth should he make the final 53-man roster.
Apr 11 - 9:33 AM

Free agent RB Kerwynn Williams worked out for the Chiefs.

Williams drew six starts for Arizona last year but was mostly ineffective, averaging just 3.6 yards per carry with one touchdown over 130 touches (120 carries, 10 catches). He'd give KC some backfield depth behind starter Kareem Hunt.
Apr 6 - 4:55 PM

Bills signed CB Phillip Gaines, formerly of the Chiefs. reports Gaines will compete in the slot. That's where Gaines primarily played in Kansas City, though he was amongst the league's worst defensive players. The Bills will be in trouble if Gaines ends up as one of their top three corners.
Mar 29 - 4:27 PM

Rams signed ILB Ramik Wilson, formerly of the Chiefs.

A 2015 fourth-rounder, Wilson has played more than 130 snaps one time in three years. He will provide depth/options at a soft spot for the Rams' defense.
Mar 22 - 7:16 PM

Free agent WR Kendall Wright is visiting the Chiefs on Thursday.

Wright spent last season with the Bears, catching 59 passes for 614 yards and a touchdown. With Albert Wilson now in Miami, the Chiefs need an option in the slot, and Wright would be a good, low-cost way to fill the gap. Unfortunately, Wright would have a difficult time finding fantasy value behind Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, and Travis Kelce in the pecking order.
Mar 22 - 8:30 AM

The Chiefs are hosting free agent RB Damien Williams.

Kansas City may be targeting a replacement for incumbent passing-down back Charcandrick West, although Williams wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade. Williams has averaged 3.6 yards per carry in his four-year career and isn't particularly dynamic after the catch. He wouldn't threaten Kareem Hunt's workload.
Mar 19 - 4:34 PM

The Chiefs hosted Cardinals restricted free agent DT Xavier Williams over the weekend.

The Cardinals tendered Williams at the original-pick level. Because he went undrafted out of Northern Iowa, Arizona would receive no compensation if the Chiefs signed Williams to an offer sheet and the Cards failed to match. Williams is a run-stopping nose tackle at 6-foot-2, 320. The Chiefs appear to be moving on from disappointing free agent NT Bennie Logan.
Mar 18 - 4:59 PM

Free agent RB Thomas Rawls is visiting the Chiefs on Friday.

Rawls wasn't tendered an offer as a restricted free agent by the Seahawks earlier this week. He's been absolutely dreadful since his 2015 broken ankle but ran behind one of the worst offensive lines in Seattle.
