The Suns are reportedly prepared to offer Clint Capela "a max or near-max contract" once free agency begins this offseason.

Capela will be a restricted free agent this offseason, and Houston will most likely be matching any offer he receives on the open market, as owner Tilman Fertita has already said he's more than willing to go into the luxury tax to keep Chris Paul, Trevor Ariza, James Harden and Capela together. Capela has been lighting it up through the playoffs thus far with averages of 14.4 points, 12.2 rebounds and 2.8 swats per contest, so he'll assuredly be getting paid this summer.

The Suns have reportedly spoken with Jason Kidd and Vinny Del Negro regarding their open head coaching position.

The Suns are still in the early stages of their coaching search, and there are sure to be more names added to the list. Kidd has been an unfavorable coach in terms of fantasy hoops in the past with his wonky rotations, so the Rotoworld staff would be pleased if he didn't land this particular gig.

The Suns reportedly plan to sign Isaiah Canaan under the injury hardship exception.

Canaan would help provide some depth at the guard spots with Phoenix so banged up, but it's unlikely he'd have much value in 12-team leagues, particularly with how inconsistent Jay Triano has been with the rotations.

The Bulls are reportedly "still intrigued" by Jahlil Okafor's talent, but are hesitant to "give up anything of significance" to acquire him.

According to Bulls writer Carlos Douglas Jr., the team "might just wait until the summer of 2018 to pursue him" in free agency. The Suns were also linked to Okafor in early November, but first they'd need to buy out or trade Greg Monroe. Atlanta and New York have also been rumored as possible landing spots, but there's no clear traction in any of these scenarios.

The Suns are reportedly interested in Jahlil Okafor.

The Suns are looking to open a roster spot by moving or buying out Greg Monroe, and they'd reportedly like to fill that hole with Okafor. However, if they aren't able to move Tyson Chandler or Alex Len prior to acquiring Okafor, he wouldn't really be in a much better situation in Phoenix than the one he's currently in in Philadelphia. The Bulls and Hawks are also rumored to be interested in Okafor, and they'd be a much better spot for him in terms of fantasy hoops.

The Bulls and the Hawks are reportedly the most likely landing spots for Jahlil Okafor.

These are some of the few teams that would make sense for Okafor, but thus far, they haven't come forth with an enticing offer for Philly, as the 76ers would like to secure a draft pick in any deal sending away the former No. 3 overall selection. Phoenix and New York have also been rumored to have interest in Okafor, but those teams are already loaded in their frontcourt and it's tough to see a deal going through where the numbers would work.

Suns waive F Elijah Millsap.

The 30-year-old played two seasons with the Jazz from 2014-16, but he appeared in just two games for the Suns last year. Whether he's playing overseas or in the G-League, it would take a series of events to propel him to fantasy relevance.

Kyrie Irving reportedly is not interested in signing an extension with any team at this point.

Irving wants out of Cleveland, but with two years left on his contract, he's not willing to sign a long-term deal with whoever trades for him. The Suns still look like the team that will be able to offer the Cavs the most enticing trade package for Irving, but their unwillingness to include Josh Jackson in any deal for Uncle Drew has been a stumbling block in trade talks thus far.
Wed, Aug 2, 2017 10:28:00 AM

Cleveland management reportedly views a Kyrie Irving trade as "almost inevitable," as they're not confident in their ability to salvage the relationship.

The Cavs are reportedly looking for a "king's ransom" in return for Irving and they're placing a high premium on bringing in a "blue-chip young player," according to sources of Zach Lowe of ESPN. Phoenix has surfaced as one of the more intriguing potential landing spots for Irving, but that deal would likely hinge on the Suns' willingness to part ways with Josh Jackson, whom they're reportedly enamored with. Boston has also reached out to Cleveland, but Lowe notes that it's unlikely we'll see the top-2 teams out East strike a deal this summer.

The Suns are out on the Paul Millsap pursuit, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of

Sam Amick of USA Today adds Millsap is still expected to meet with Denver tonight. Woj notes that the Suns are going to keep their cap space open and hope to take on salary to go with some young assets or picks -- this is the move Sam Hinkie used to get picks from the Kings a few years ago. With the Suns out, that leaves the Wolves, Nuggets and Hawks as the frontrunners for the 2017 All-Star. The Wolves would likely have to make some moves to fit Sapper in the cap.

Restricted free agent Alan Williams is a "serious candidate" for the Knicks, a source told Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Williams' availability is likely to be contingent on what Phoenix does or doesn't do in free agency, so we're not expecting a quick resolution here. Even if the Knicks decide to make an offer in short order, the Suns will have the opportunity to match.

Blake Griffin has canceled meetings with Phoenix and Denver, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.

The report adds it sounds like the Clippers are the favorites, assuming a wildcard team doesn't swoop in late. Reading between the lines, it sounds like the Clippers may have finally committed to a fifth year for Griffin. If so, he'll be the franchise's centerpiece and would be in for a bump in stats.

Paul Millsap will meet with the Suns after the NBA free agency moratorium period begins Saturday, according to John Gambadoro of 98.7 Arizona Sports.

The Suns are also expected to meet with Blake Griffin on Saturday, so they look to be players for some free agent forwards. Millsap is 32 years old, so the Hawks may not want to offer him a five-year max. That could make it tougher on them to come to terms and would take away one of their biggest advantages.

The Suns and Nuggets discussed a trade that would feature Eric Bledsoe in exchange for Emmanuel Mudiay and the No. 13 pick, according to Chris Haynes of

The Nuggets really don't value Mudiay too much anymore, so they would have no problem giving him up now that Jamal Murray has clearly passed him on the depth. Denver reportedly also discussed Mudiay with the Knicks, but it's unclear if they gained any traction. The Suns are also likely looking to deal away Bledsoe to get him off their books as they stack up their picks for the future. Both the Nuggets and Suns are teams to watch tonight.

The Spurs have reportedly dangled LaMarcus Aldridge in exchange for a top-five draft pick, according to Suns radio host John Gambadoro.

It's important to note that this is coming from the Suns side without any sources cited, so it's firmly a rumor. Nothing suggests that Phoenix would be receptive to such an offer, if indeed it were made. That said, San Antonio is reportedly trying to clear cap space to pursue an elite free agent this summer, so this won't be the last time they come up in trade whispers.
Wed, Jun 21, 2017 07:55:00 PM

The Kings, Nuggets and Suns will reportedly pursue Paul Millsap as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Millsap is fully expected to opt out of his contract in order to hit the open market this summer, and there's sure to be more than a few teams added to this list as we get deeper into free agency. The Hawks have reportedly begun to put out some feelers regarding potential sign-and-trade scenarios, which hints that the Atlanta franchise may be prepared to begin going through a rebuild. The Nuggets have long been interested in Millsap, and given they can afford to offer him a max deal, they look like one of the early frontrunners to potentially secure the All-Star forwards services.

The Spurs, Celtics, Suns and 76ers have all reportedly reached out to the Knicks regarding Kristaps Porzingis.

How far any of these talks got is uncertain, as it's being reported that Phil Jackson's asking price in any potential Porzingis deal remains very high, but it's interesting to see that New York appears to be fielding offers for a guy many believe is their franchise player. For what it's worth, according to Porzingis' brother, KP6 remains committed to the Knicks despite the constant drama that has surrounded the franchise since his arrival.

Josh Jackson has still not worked out for the Celtics.

Danny Ainge has been trying to convince Jackson to come in for a visit for some time now, but Jackson reportedly would not commit unless Boston would promise to keep their No. 3 overall pick and use it on him. In addition to this, Jackson has not released his medical info to the Celtics, so they'd be taking a pretty huge risk if they decide to go with him on draft day. For now, it would appear Jason Tatum is the most likely guy to go No. 3 overall, which likely would have Jackson landing in Phoenix.

The Knicks reportedly offered Kristaps Porzingis to the Suns in exchange for Devin Booker and the No. 4 overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft.

It's currently unknown if the Suns countered this offer, but the main takeaway here is that Phil Jackson appears to be shopping The Unicorn. The Celtics have also been rumored to have an interest in trading for Porzingis, but Jackson would reportedly like to include Joakim Noah (and his horrendous contract) as a part of any Porzingis-deal, which could be a deal breaker for a lot of opposing teams.

Josh Hart worked out for the Suns on Monday.

This was Hart's second workout with the club, which hints that Phoenix may be considering investing a second-round pick in the two-guard out of Villanova. At 6'5 with a built 204-pound frame, Hart has good size for the shooting guard position, but it would be tough for him to crack the rotation in Phoenix given the glutton of guards already on the roster.
