The Hornets are bringing in free agent G Donald Sloan for a workout, according to David Pick.

Sloan last played for the Nets in 2015-16, averaging 7.0 points, 2.8 boards, 4.4 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.6 threes in 21.6 minutes per game. He played for the Guangdong Southern Tigers in China last year, helping his team make the 2017 CBA Finals, and could head back overseas if he doesn't earn a guaranteed deal in the NBA.

Michael Carter-Williams received a phone call from the Rockets at the start of free agency.

ESPN's Marc Spears is reporting that MCW is also drawing interest from the Knicks, Thunder, Mavericks, Pelicans and Hornets. Carter-Williams is coming off a disappointing season in which he averaged career-lows in points (6.6), assists (2.5), FG percentage (.366) and assist rate (.200). However, the former Rookie of the Year is still just 25 years old and possesses a rare combination of size and skill.

Terrance Ferguson will work out for the Hornets.

He played in Australia instead of college, scoring just 4.6 points per game with Adelaide last season. Ferguson does have decent size at 6'7" with his 6'9" wingspan to go with his 38'' vertical, so he checks off the boxes there. Of course, there aren't too many success stories on players opting to not play in college, so Ferguson will likely fall in the 15-20 range.

The Hornets are reportedly pleased with their Briante Weber signing, and they will not pursue Brandon Jennings as a free agent.

Assuming Jennings clears waivers, he'll then be free to join a team of his choosing, and so far the Wizards have expressed interest. Jennings could potentially earn a sixth man-type role in Washington, but it's unlikely he'd generate much fantasy value at all while John Wall and Bradley Beal are healthy.

The Wizards will reportedly make a bid for Brandon Jennings.

An earlier report stemming from Stan Van Gundy implied that Jennings was a lock to go to Charlotte, but esteemed reporter David Aldridge is now adding that Washington has entered the equation. Jennings would just be a backup with either club, so there's not much incentive to take a flier on him in standard leagues.
