Marc-Andre Fleury has been outstanding during Vegas' playoff run to the Stanley Cup Final.

Fleury posted a .977 save percentage in four games on 130 shots during Round 1 against Los Angeles. He followed that up with a .935 save percentage on 214 shots over six games versus San Jose during Round 2. In the Western Conference Final against Winnipeg, Fleury had a .938 save percentage on 161 shots in five contests. It wouldn't be out of the question to see the veteran netminder capture the Conn Smythe Trophy even if Vegas doesn't win the Stanley Cup. He has been that good this postseason.

Vegas is the third team in NHL history to reach the Stanley Cup Final in its inaugural season.

The other two are the Toronto Arenas in 1918 and St. Louis Blues in 1968. The 1918 campaign is a given as it was also the first of the NHL, but the Arenas' opponents in that year's finals, the Montreal Canadiens, predated the NHL so it wasn't their inaugural season. As for St. Louis, that was the campaign when the NHL expanded from six teams to 12 and the West Division that the Blues came from was compromised entirely out of expansion teams. So while Vegas isn't the first team to pull off this particular feat, they are the first to do so under these set of circumstances.

Deryk Engelland accepted the Campbell Bowl, which goes to the Western Conference champion, following Vegas' series win over Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon.

Engelland, who wears an 'A' for the Golden Knights, touched the trophy and brought it back to his teammates before they all headed off the ice. It's always a topic of superstition whether or not to touch the Conference champion trophy because the Stanley Cup is the real prize. Engelland consulted with Marc-Andre Fleury before accepting the hardware.

Marc-Andre Fleury turned aside 31 shots in a 2-1 win over Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon.

Fleury and the Vegas Golden Knights finished off the Jets in five games to advance to the Stanley Cup Final. Vegas won four straight games behind great goaltending from Fleury and timely scoring after losing the first match of the series. The expansion Golden Knights will play against Tampa Bay or Washington for the Stanley Cup.
May 20 - 6:12 PM

Alex Tuch scored a goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Winnipeg in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.

Tuch's sixth goal of the postseason opened the scoring 5:11 into the first period. Winnipeg tied the game before the end of the opening frame, but Ryan Reaves gave the Golden Knights a lead they wouldn't relinquish in the second stanza. Vegas has eliminated the Jets and will play for the Stanley Cup against Tampa Bay or Washington.
May 20 - 6:03 PM

Ryan Reaves scored the game-winning goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Winnipeg in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final.

The Winnipeg native eliminated his hometown Jets with a tip-in goal at the 13:21 mark of the second period on a shot by Luca Sbisa. Reaves' first goal of the playoffs held up as the game winner and it sends the expansion Vegas Golden Knights to the Stanley Cup Final.
May 20 - 5:55 PM

Tomas Tatar will be a healthy scratch for a second consecutive contest on Sunday afternoon.

Tatar didn't play in Game 4 against Winnipeg when David Perron returned to the lineup. Vegas will have the same lineup in Game 5.

Marc-Andre Fleury will get the nod in Game 5 versus Winnipeg.

Fleury led the Golden Knights for the pregame warmups and will look for his fourth straight win and a series victory on Sunday afternoon. He has registered a 1.72 goals-against average, a .945 save percentage and four shutouts this postseason.
May 20 - 2:46 PM

Marc-Andre Fleury has been superb during his three-game winning streak.

Fleury has posted a 1.67 goals-against average and .951 save percentage during that span. "I feel good," he said. "Every game is different a bit. Obviously, my teammates are playing great in front of me too. They're helping me out around the net. Got some wins out of it. Yeah, it's been alright." Fleury and the Golden Knights can advance to the Stanley Cup Final with a win over Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon.

Alex Tuch says he is not tired after playing in his 95th game of the season Friday.

The most Tuch had ever played before this season was 63 games last year of which 57 were in the AHL. But this season has been different as he had 15 goals and 37 points in 78 regular season games with the Golden Knights in addition to three games with Chicago of the AHL where he had four goals and a helper. He has five goals and eight points in the playoffs thus far. I’m still young," Tuch said. "I’m still able to, when I need to, just turn the switch on and my energy level is pretty high. I’m feeling great." It has been quite the year for Tuch who is seeing action on the second line with James Neal and Erik Haula.

With his assist last night on William Karlsson's opening goal, Reilly Smith set the NHL record for most assists (14) in a team's first postseason appearance.

Smith's assist last night might not be as memorable as his goal, but it put him in the history books with his 14th assist of the playoffs. Both he and Jonathan Marchessault continue to show just how much the Florida Panthers erred by letting them go to Vegas so easily. The Golden Knights can clinch a spot in the Stanley Cup Final with a win on Sunday afternoon.
May 19 - 12:33 PM

With his first-period assist in Friday's night's 3-2 win over the Jets, Jonathan Marchessault tied an NHL record.

Marchessault's 18 points in the playoffs ties Jude Drouin (with the Islanders in 1975) and Igor Larionov (with San Jose in 1994) for the most points by a player with a franchise in its first-ever postseason. Marchessault seems like a good bet to break the record before the end of Vegas' playoff run.
May 19 - 10:25 AM

Marc-Andre Fleury allowed two goals on 37 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets in Game 4.

Outside of the weak goal he gave up to Tyler Myers, Fleury was in spectacular form making save after save. Fleury has now won three-straight games, allowing a combined five goals during that span to improve his record during this post-season to 11-3 with a 1.72 goals-against-average and .945 save percentage. If the Golden Knights could finish off the Jets and head to the Stanley Cup Final, Fleury will be the odds on favorite for the Conn Smythe Trophy. Game 5 is currently scheduled for Sunday afternoon with the Golden Knights holding a 3-1 series lead.
May 18 - 11:17 PM

Tomas Nosek made up for a bad penalty that led to a Winnipeg Jets goal by scoring moments later in Friday's 3-2 Game 4 win.

Nosek's two minute penalty for tripping proved costly after Patrik Laine tied the game a minute later with a one-timer. However, head coach Gerard Gallant showed faith in Nosek, throwing his forward right back out there and Nosek responded with a goal just 43 seconds later on a wraparound off a rebound that Connor Hellebuyck would love to get back. The Golden Knights are now one win away from their first Stanley Cup Final berth and will head back to Winnipeg with a 3-1 series lead. Reilly Smith and William Karlsson also scored in the win. Game 5 is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
May 18 - 11:01 PM

William Karlsson scored a goal in Friday's 3-2 Game 4 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Jonathan Marchessault made a beautiful move to fake inside before feeding the puck over to William Karlsson who buried the one-timer in behind Connor Hellebuyck for the first goal of the game. It's Karlsson's sixth of the post-season, giving him 13 points in 14 games. Vegas is now one win away from making it to the Stanley Cup Final in their inaugural season and they will head back to Winnipeg with a 3-1 series lead and Game 5 scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Tomas Nosek and Reilly Smith also scored in the win.
