The Winnipeg Jets have signed Connor Hellebuyck to a six-year, $37 million contract.
Hellebuyck had filed for salary arbitration, but the hearing is no longer necessary. He finished second in Vezina Trophy voting after posting a 44-11-9 record, 2.36 GAA, and .924 save percentage in 67 games last season. While there's certainly some risk here given that Hellebuyck didn't do nearly as well in 2016-17, this also could prove to be a great contract for Winnipeg if he can maintain his level of play from last season. The Winnipeg Jets would like to re-sign Connor Hellebuyck to a long-term contract, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

Hellebuyck will be a restricted free agent this summer. The fact that the Jets want to sign him is hardly surprising considering he was one of the top goaltenders in the league this season. The 25-year-old had a 44-11-9 record with a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage during the regular season. He was also selected as one of the three finalists for the Vezina Trophy.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 30 shots in a 2-1 loss to Vegas in Game 5 on Sunday afternoon.

Hellebuyck and the Jets lost four straight games after winning the series opener in the Western Conference Final and now their season is over. The 25-year-old netminder had a great year, but fatigue may have caught up to him. He was outplayed by veteran Marc-Andre Fleury throughout the series.
May 20 - 6:06 PM

Connor Hellebuyck will get the nod in Game 5 against Vegas.

Hellebuyck, who led the Jets out for the pregame warmups, has lost three straight games to the Golden Knights after Winnipeg won the series opener. He has permitted three goals in each of the defeats and he has posted a save percentage below .900. That will have to change if the Jets are going to extend the series.
May 20 - 2:42 PM

Connor Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 29 shots in Friday's 3-2 Game 4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

It wasn't a terrible game by any means but Hellebuyck gave up a terrible rebound that led to Tomas Nosek's goal and he would probably like to have back Reilly Smith's game-winner. Hellebuyck has now lost three straight games, posting a 3.09 goals-against-average and a .895 save percentage during those contests. The Jets will need him to be in Vezina form for Sunday afternoon's do-or-die tilt in Winnipeg. His playoff record falls to 9-7 with a 2.38 goals-against-average and a .921 save percentage.
May 18 - 11:12 PM

Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 26 of 29 shots in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 3 of the Western Conference Final.

Hellebuyck allowed the game's first goal 35 seconds into the opening period, but his team eventually tied the game at one in the second period. Unfortunately for the Jets, the Golden Knights managed to go ahead 2-1 just 12 seconds later thanks to James Neal. Winnipeg was never able to recover after that point. Hellebuyck owns a 9-6 record with a 2.34 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage this postseason. The Jets trail 2-1 in this best-of-seven series. It's the first time they trail in a series in 2018. Game 4 will be played in Vegas on Friday night.

The Jets fell behind 2-0 in the first period and they were never able to recover. Winnipeg eventually cut the deficit to 2-1 in the third frame, but that's as close as they got to tying to score. This was the first time in three games that Hellebuyck allowed more than two goals. He owns a 9-5 record with a 2.29 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage this postseason. The best-of-seven series will now shift to Vegas for Game 3. These two teams split the first two games.

May 14 - 6:08 PM

Connor Hellebuyck turned aside 19 of 21 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final.

The Jets spotted their goaltender a 3-0 lead less than eight minutes into the game and that's all they needed to secure a win in Game 1. This is the fourth time in five games that Hellebuyck allows two goals or fewer in the playoffs. The 24-year-old has a 9-4 record with a 2.23 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage this postseason. The Jets now own a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Final. They're three games away from making it to the Stanley Cup Final. Game 2 will be played in Winnipeg on Monday night.
May 12 - 10:14 PM

The Winnipeg Jets are expected to start Connor Hellebuyck for Saturday's Game 1 matchup against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Hellebuyck has won eight of 14 playoff games so far, including two of his last three while posting a 2.01 goals-against-average and .943 save percentage across those three games. After eliminating one of the favorites for the Stanley Cup, the Jets will have another tough matchup with a well rested Vegas team that has played just 10 games so far during the post-season.
May 12 - 4:38 PM

Connor Hellebuyck allowed one goal on 37 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Nashville Predators.

The Jets jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Predators defenseman P.K. Subban beat Hellebuyck with a blast from the point on the power play. Hellebuyck stood tall the rest of the way (he stopped 21 shots in the third period) and he helped his team punch their ticket to the Western Conference Final. Hellebuyck now owns an 8-4 record with a 2.25 goals-against-average and a .927 save percentage this postseason. The fact that he was able to lead his team to three road victories in Nashville during the season is pretty impressive. The Jets will play the Vegas Golden Knights in the third round.
May 10 - 11:02 PM

Connor Hellebuyck should start in Game 7 Thursday night.

No surprise there. Hellebuyck is a big part of the reason the Jets have gotten this far. He's posted a 2.36 GAA and .922 save percentage in 11 playoff starts.
May 10 - 1:07 PM

Connor Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 28 shots in Monday's 4-0 loss to the Nashville Predators.

It's hard to fault Hellebuyck for this loss because he couldn't really do anything about any of the three goals he allowed. This was the third time the 24-year-old allowed three goals or more in this series. He owns a 7-4 record with a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage during the postseason. This best-of-seven series is now evened up at 3-3. Game 7 will be played in Nashville on Thursday night. The winner of that clash will take on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference Final.
