The plan is for Jeff Carter (ankle) to start practicing with the Kings after they complete their road trip.

Los Angeles' current trip will conclude with a game against Winnipeg on Feb. 20. Carter hasn't been able to play since Oct. 18 due to the injury. There isn't much time left in the 2017-18 campaign, but it would be a big boost for the Kings if they can get him back in time for their final push for a playoff spot.

Jeff Carter (ankle) is able to walk unaided at this point.

There's no timetable for Carter's return, but Kings GM Rob Blake does expect Carter to return this season. In fact, Blake considers Carter's eventual return as the equivalent of a trade deadline pickup. "We’ll get him for nothing," Blake said. Carter hasn't played since Oct. 18 due to a lacerated ankle tendon.

Jeff Carter was seen wheeling around in the Staples Center on a motorized scooter.

His foot was bandaged and elevated. It looks as if the rumored prognosis for Carter's injury (6-8 weeks) could be accurate based on what he is doing and how he is doing it. Still, there is no definitive timetable for his return.
