Roberto Luongo still isn't over the fact that the Florida Panthers missed the playoffs in 2017-18.
The Panthers dug themselves into a hole early, but they managed to make things interesting late. In the end, they missed the postseason by one point and that stings for the veteran goaltender. But now that the Stanley Cup Playoffs are over, he can start getting over it. "Until hockey’s off TV, it’s tough to start focusing on the next year," Luongo said. "Obviously, the emotions start to go away as time goes by. But for me personally, it’s always been about once the season is over as far as the Stanley Cup Final is when I can start moving on. And everybody’s back on the same page and working for the next season." Jun 9 - 8:28 AM

James Reimer will start again on Sunday night.

This will be the second time in two nights that Roberto Luongo was expected to get the nod, but Reimer will start instead. Reimer made 38 stops in a 4-3 win over Buffalo on Saturday night. He owns a 21-14-6 record this year with a 3.00 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.

Don't be surprised if James Reimer is in goal for Thursday's game against Boston.

Roberto Luongo was the only goalie for the Panthers at morning skate and he stayed late, which suggests Reimer will get the nod. Coach Bob Boughner said Thursday morning that a starter had not been determined yet. "It's all going to be scheduling," the Florida bench boss added. "We know that we have an afternoon game Saturday and one of them's going to play Monday and one’s got to play back-to-back against Ottawa. It’s about trying to get Louie some rest here and that's out thought process today if Louie doesn't go, he gets an afternoon game against Edmonton and another game Monday where he gets some rest."

James Reimer will get the nod on Friday against Buffalo.

Coach Bob Boughner said that Roberto Luongo will play versus New Jersey Thursday night and the veteran netminder will be back in goal for Sunday's match against Philadelphia. Reimer struggled in three appearances in February and Luongo has been superb since his return to the lineup.

James Reimer will step back into the number one role with Roberto Luongo sidelined with a lower-body injury.

An update on Luongo's status is expected to come on Wednesday. A timetable for his return is unclear at the moment, but he won't play Thursday. Reimer posted two wins in six starts when Luongo went down with a hand injury in late October. He was pulled in his last two appearances during that stretch in ugly performances against Tampa Bay and Columbus. Reimer will have to be better this time around.
