Russell Westbrook played again on Wednesday and hit 6-of-14 shots and 11-of-12 free throws for 23 points, 13 rebounds, 15 assists, one steal and two blocks in 37 minutes.
He was 0-for-4 from downtown, but notched his 17th triple-double of the season, while he's missed several others by just a point, rebound or assist. The Thunder are the currently the No. 5 seed in the West, but sit just one game ahead of the Nuggets, Pelicans and Blazers, while the Clippers are just 1.5 games back, and the Jazz are 2.5 games back. Westbrook is going to have to continue to play at a high level while they chase the Timberwolves and Spurs, and try to hold off all the pursuers. Westbrook's ankle appears to be fine and he'll hopefully be able to get a little rest during the All-Star break. Feb 14 - 11:54 PM

Carmelo Anthony (ankle) will not play vs. Memphis on Sunday.

Melo hurt himself during Tuesday's game and this is his second straight DNP. He didn't practice on Saturday, either, and there's no clear indication when he might return. With Russell Westbrook (ankle) also out of commission, Paul George should be extremely busy tonight.

Carmelo Anthony believes OKC is "much more effective" with Russell Westbrook "playing his game."

In other words, Melo wants everyone to let Westbrook be Westbrook. "We know what he brings to the game," Anthony said. "We understand it, we accept it. And by that, he’s able to just play his game, relax, and do what he does best. We need that Russ out there, not the one that defers to us. Let us figure it out." The Thunder is 5-0 in their last five games, and Carmelo has shown some signs of figuring out the dynamic during that time, averaging 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.0 3-pointers on 35-of-76 (46.1%) shooting.

Paul George (illness) sat out Monday's practice.

OKC doesn't play until Wednesday in Orlando, so PG-13 still has a full two days to rest up and get himself ready for that one. We'll have a better idea on his status based on his activity level at Wednesday morning's shootaround, but if he is forced to the sidelines, that would open up minutes for Jerami Grant while Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony would split the usage.

Carmelo Anthony (back) was limited to non-contact work during Tuesday's practice.

He's going to be re-evaluated on Wednesday, so owners can expect to get another update following Wednesday morning's shootaround. If he's out again, Jerami Grant will be in line for another start and both Russell Westbrook and Paul George will see an uptick in usage.

Paul George posted a monster line vs. the Nuggets on Tuesday, scoring 19 points with 11 rebounds, four assists, five steals, one block and five 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

We won't overreact to the preseason, but it looks like George, Russell Westbrook (20 points on 9-of-13 FGs) and Carmelo Anthony (16 points on 7-of-17 FGs) are going to coexist just fine. George led all Thunder players in minutes with 35, finishing 7-of-19 from the field with four turnovers. There's nothing wrong with taking him in the second round of drafts even though his ceiling isn't as high as previous years.

Raymond Felton, Andre Roberson, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony and Steven Adams will be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's preseason matchup with the Rockets.

Russell Westbrook (knee) is still recovering from his PRP injection, so Felton will be manning the point guard position in his absence. Billy Donovan indicated that new additions PG-13 and Melo will play their usual minutes during the first half, but they might not take the floor at all after halftime.

Paul George has been traded to the Thunder in exchange for Victor Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis.

Well, the days of saying Russell Westbrook has no help are officially over. We'll see what Westbrook can do to try and keep PG-13 in OKC, but most signs from earlier this month suggest it'll be a tall order to get George away from the Lakers next year. For the 2017-18 season, George makes a lot of sense next to Westy. PG was actually awesome as a catch-and-shoot guy, posting a 59.9 effective field goal percentage, so Westbrook should be looking to hit him a lot along the 3-point line. George does lose some fantasy value because Westy's super vortex of sucking in usage rate should hurt, but PG should still have early-round value.

The Thunder plan on "chasing" Blake Griffin in free agency, according to ESPN's Royce Young.

It's nice to have dreams, right? With OKC paying approximately $90M combined to Russell Westbrook, Victor Oladipo, Enes Kanter and Steven Adams, it's hard to see what the Thunder has to offer that could entice the Clippers in a possible sign-and-trade deal. A homecoming story always tugs at the heart strings, but we're not considering this scenario likely to come to fruition, especially when we've heard next to nothing from Griffin's camp about a desire to head home.

C.J. McCollum hit 8-of-20 shots and scored 21 points on Tuesday, but finished with just one 3-pointer, two rebounds, zero assists, steals or blocks.

It was an oddly quiet line for CJ, but Allen Crabbe's big night (23 points) off the bench probably had something to do with it, along with him focusing on trying to at least slow Russell Westbrook down. It's going to take more than a weird stat line from McCollum to cause any concern and the fact the Blazers were able to beat the Thunder on a night Westbrook dropped 58 points is a bonus. Damian Lillard added 22 points and eight assists for the Blazers.
