Wayne Ellington and Miami have reached an agreement on a deal, according to Chris Haynes of
It's a one-year deal worth $6.2 million, per Haynes. He's the best shooter left on the market and some contenders may have been in on Wayne, but he'll stay put. He had a chance to score a franchise-record in 3-pointers off the bench last year, and he should be in that role again. Jul 12 - 9:28 PM

Josh Richardson (shoulder) said there is a 60 percent chance that he will play in Game 5 on Tuesday night vs. the Sixers.

This is somewhat surprising, considering Richardson was able to play the second half of Game 4 (and finish with a franchise-record seven steals). In addition, it was reported after the game that J-Rich planned to play in Game 5. If Richardson is ruled out, it would be a major blow to Miami's chances. We likely won't have confirmation on his status until Coach Spoelstra speaks with reporters at approximately 6:30 pm. Dwyane Wade, Wayne Ellington and Rodney McGruder would see an uptick in minutes if Richardson is unable to play.
Apr 24 - 12:18 PM

Goran Dragic (knee soreness) is doubtful to play Wednesday against the Raptors.

"We're going to be smart about this," head coach Erik Spoelstra said regarding Dragic dealing with soreness in his knee. It sounds like Dragic will be hit with a precautionary rest day on the eve of the postseason, which will result in more minutes for guys like Tyler Johnson, Dwyane Wade and Wayne Ellington. Derrick Walton Jr. or Rodney McGruder could start, but those guys rarely do much even when given the minutes.
Apr 11 - 11:57 AM

Dwyane Wade (left hamstring strain) will not suit up for Wednesday's game against the Knicks.

This will be Wade's fifth straight game on the sidelines, and nothing is suggesting he's close. Wayne Ellington and Justise Winslow will continue to pick up extra minutes in his absence, with Ellington offering a bit more upside. Wade belongs on the waiver wire in all leagues.
Mar 20 - 4:23 PM

Dwyane Wade (hamstring) will not suit up for Monday's game against the Nuggets.

This will be Wade's fourth straight game on the sidelines, and given how tricky hamstring injuries can be, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 36-year-old miss at least a few more games. At this juncture in the fantasy season, it's tough to justify hanging onto injured guys. As a rather low-upside player, Wade can be cut in most places. Justise Winslow and Wayne Ellington will pick up the slack in his absence.
Mar 18 - 5:36 PM

Hassan Whiteside (hip) and Dwyane Wade (hamstring) are being listed as out for Wednesday's game in Sacramento.

This update is coming from the game notes, so it's possible things change after shootaround, but for now it looks like these guys are set to spend another game on the sidelines. Bam Adebayo and Kelly Olynyk will man the center-spot in Whiteside's absence, and Wayne Ellington should pick up some extra minutes with Wade out. Check back for official confirmation on their statuses closer to Wednesday's tip.
Mar 13 - 6:21 PM

Tyler Johnson (left thigh contusion), Wayne Ellington (left thigh contusion), and Bam Adebayo (personal) will all miss Saturday's game vs. Detroit.

Johnson and Ellington were expected absences after being unable to practice on Friday, while Adebayo's absence is due to personal reasons. Without either Johnson or Ellington available, Goran Dragic, Dwyane Wade, Josh Richardson, Justise Winslow, and Rodney McGruder will all help fill the void.
Mar 3 - 11:36 AM

Tyler Johnson (left quad) and Wayne Ellington (left quad) did not practice on Wednesday.

Erik Spoelstra wouldn't commit to either of these guys being available for Thursday's game against the Lakers and if both these guys sit, Dwyane Wade and Josh Richardson could be forced into heavy minutes. Check back for another update following Thursday morning's shootaround.
Feb 28 - 1:29 PM

Tyler Johnson (ankle) and Goran Dragic (knee) are being listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Rockets.

Johnson has spent the past three games on the sidelines, but we'll have a better idea on his status following Monday morning's shootaround. If he's out again on Monday, Derrick Jones Jr. will have another opportunity to start with more minutes falling to Justise Winslow and Wayne Ellington. Dragic sat out Saturday's game, and if he's out again on Monday, Josh Richardson would spend more time running the offense.
Jan 21 - 5:00 PM

Tyler Johnson (ankle) will not play Wednesday vs. the Bucks, as expected.

"He is feeling better. We did not get an MRI, it is just an ankle sprain at this point," said head coach Erik Spoelstra of Johnson. "We will continue to treat and evaluate him." It'll be interesting to see who Miami brings into the starting five with Johnson out, but Wayne Ellington figures to be the primary beneficiary here in terms of minutes. Johnson doesn't appear to be dealing with anything serious, but he could also miss Friday's game in Brooklyn with it being the first of a back-to-back set.
Jan 17 - 1:01 PM

Tyler Johnson (ankle) will not be required to undergo an MRI, but he is doubtful to play Wednesday vs. Milwaukee.

Johnson could miss a few games, but the fact that he's avoiding an MRI suggests he's not dealing with anything too serious. We should get official confirmation on his status following Wednesday's shootaround, and if he's out, Wayne Ellington could see heavy minutes as a starter. Stay tuned.
Jan 16 - 4:43 PM

Tyler Johnson (ankle) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday.

Johnson was grabbing at his knee after the hard fall on Monday and needed to be carted off the court, but the Heat are simply calling this an ankle sprain, and we should get official confirmation on that diagnosis once the MRI results are made public. Miami plays in Milwaukee on Wednesday, and for now, we'll be considering Johnson doubtful for that one. If he's out, Wayne Ellington could move into the starting group with Goran Dragic and Josh Richardson logging heavy minutes. Stay tuned.
Jan 15 - 6:15 PM

Dion Waiters is expected to have season-ending surgery on his injured left ankle, according to Yahoo's Shams Charania.

Waiters opted not to have surgery last season, but after getting multiple second opinions this week, he reportedly decided he couldn't wait any longer. Waiters' expected absence for the rest of the season is a major blow for Miami's depth. Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson and Wayne Ellington will continue to take on heavier workloads, with Johnson and Richardson in particular having the ball in their hands more often. Fantasy owners may want to wait for more confirmation before cutting Waiters, but not if there's a hot FA you might miss out on. We should have a rough timetable for Waiters' recovery soon after the surgery is performed.
Jan 11 - 6:08 PM

Tyler Johnson (left shoulder strain) will not suit up for Tuesday's game in Toronto.

Johnson hurt his shoulder at shootaround, and unfortunately, this is the same shoulder that he had surgically repaired back in 2016. Head coach Erik Spoelstra wouldn't commit to having Johnson available for Wednesday's game in Indiana, and with that one being the second of a back-to-back, there will not be a shootaround so we likely won't get an update until just prior to tip-off. Goran Dragic, Josh Richardson and Wayne Ellington figure to log heavy minutes tonight.
Jan 9 - 6:11 PM

Coach Eric Spoelstra said that Justise Winslow will not play Friday vs. the Mavs and that he "does not anticipate" Winslow playing Saturday vs. New Orleans.

Friday will be the fifth straight game Winslow has missed. Goran Dragic (elbow) has also been ruled out of Friday's contest. As a result, Josh Richardson and Wayne Ellington will continue to see extended playing time. J-Rich has been on fire of late. He is averaging 24.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 3.3 treys, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks over Miami's last three games.
Fri, Dec 22, 2017 11:50:00 AM

Goran Dragic (elbow) and Dion Waiters (illness) did not participate during shootaround, and both remain questionable to play Monday vs. Atlanta.

"I’m not sure what exactly happened," Dragic said of the elbow injury that he suffered on Saturday. "I kind of like hit it, hyper-extended it. It was fine after the game, but the next day it swelled up. We’re going to go see a doctor and see." If both Dragic and Waiters are unavailable tonight, the Heat will enter Monday's game with just eight healthy players, and guys like Josh Richardson, Wayne Ellington and Tyler Johnson would all see a big uptick in usage. Stay tuned.

James Johnson has been diagnosed with right ankle bursitis and he's expected to miss the next 7-10 days of action.

Johnson will not be traveling with the team on their upcoming two-game road trip, and this timetable will have him out of commission for the next 4-6 games. With Johnson unavailable, guys like Josh Richardson, Dion Waiters, Wayne Ellington and Jordan Mickey will be asked to pick up the slack, and both Ellington and Mickey could be worth an add in deep leagues.
Sun, Dec 17, 2017 02:37:00 PM

Tyler Johnson (illness) did not go through shootaround but said he'd play Wednesday vs. the Suns.

Johnson always says he'll play when asked, but that decision will ultimately be up to Erik Spoelstra, and it looks like he'll be headed for a game-time call after missing shootaround. If he's out, Wayne Ellington would pick up most of his minutes, and he'd be on the radar as a potential deep league, 3-point streamer. Stay tuned.
Wed, Nov 8, 2017 05:51:00 PM

Dion Waiters (personal) has rejoined the team and is expected to start Wednesday vs. Phoenix.

With Waiters back in the starting five, we'll likely see Justise Winslow shift back to the second unit and Wayne Ellington's minutes figure to be reduced to the teens. There will also be somewhat less opportunity for Tyler Johnson. Check back for official confirmation on Waiters' status closer to tip-off.
Wed, Nov 8, 2017 02:11:00 PM

Dion Waiters (personal) will rejoin his team on Tuesday in Phoenix, and play against the Suns on Wednesday.

Waiters will miss Monday's game, which could result in another start for Justise Winslow, but it's Tyler Johnson, Wayne Ellington and Josh Richardson who will be the primary beneficiaries with Waiters on the sidelines. Ellington could be someone to think about as a low-end, 3-point streamer tonight, while Johnson has some DFS appeal coming off Sunday's outing in which he produced 19 points, three triples, three assists, three steals, two boards and two turnovers in 33 minutes.
Mon, Nov 6, 2017 03:24:00 PM

Dion Waiters (personal) will miss Monday's matchup against the Warriors.

He's still back in Miami after the birth of his second daughter, but maybe he'll get back to the team in time for Wednesday's game in Phoenix. Justise Winslow drew the start in his place on Sunday, but was horrible, while Tyler Johnson and Wayne Ellington played well with some increased opportunity with the second unit. Josh Richardson should also see some increased touches on Monday night sans Waiters.
