Logan Morrison hit a bases-loaded, go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning of Sunday's 3-1 win over the Brewers.
With two on and one out, the Brewers opted to intentionally walk Eduardo Escobar to bring up Morrison to face lefty reliever Boone Logan with the bases loaded. LoMo won the battle, lining a single off the right field wall to plate two. Morrison now has 17 RBI to go with a disappointing .211/.318/.376 line in 39 games this year. May 20 - 7:15 PM

Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com expects the Twins to place Kennys Vargas on outright waivers at the end of spring training.

Vargas, 27, is out of options, and the signing of Logan Morrison makes it extremely unlikely that he'll make the Opening Day roster. Bollinger writes that the Twins hope to keep Vargas in the organization, and because he's limited defensively to first base, there's a chance that he could clear and report to Triple-A Rochester. A team that's interested in adding some power to their lineup could give him a chance, however, and it shouldn't surprise anyone if Vargas was dealt at some point in the next two weeks.

Kevin Kiermaier is out of the Rays' starting lineup Thursday night against the Yankees.

Peter Bourjos will start in center field and bat ninth versus Yankees right-hander Sonny Gray. Steven Souza and Logan Morrison are also on the bench Thursday, with Mallex Smith drawing the nod in right field and hitting leadoff and Lucas Duda starting at first base and batting cleanup.

Corey Dickerson is not in the Rays' lineup Tuesday.

The only left-handed hitter the Rays have in there against Chris Sale is Mallex Smith. That means that in addition to Dickerson, Logan Morrison, Lucas Duda and Brad Miller are also on the bench.
