Todd Frazier (hamstring) was scheduled to do some hitting on Monday.
It will be his first time hitting in about five or six days. Frazier landed on the disabled list with a left hamstring strain nearly two weeks ago and said Saturday that he's still feeling it when he runs. He'll require a minor league rehab assignment before rejoining the Mets, though it's unclear when that might take place. May 21 - 3:29 PM

According to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Eduardo Nunez and Todd Frazier are the Mets' leading choices to bolster their infield.

Rosenthal notes that the Mets are a bit leery of Frazier's intentions, thinking he could be using them in order to leverage a better offer from the Yankees. Nunez is reportedly fully healthy and has been working out in the Dominican Republic. He could wind up being an intriguing fantasy commodity if he lands in the right situation.

Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that while the Mets continue to talk to the Pirates about Josh Harrison, a free agent addition is more likely.

In other words, not much has changed here. The Mets have been linked to Harrison for quite some time, but they are reluctant to give up talent from what is already a thin farm system. Brandon Nimmo has been mentioned as a trade possibility, but the Mets are lacking in outfield depth. The Mets are believed to considering a free agent pool consisting of Todd Frazier, Neil Walker, and Eduardo Nunez, but Puma writes that we might not see movement on that front until "the bigger names are off the board."

MLB.com's Jon Morosi reports that the Mets are interested in Mike Moustakas and Todd Frazier "if the price drops on either."

The markets for both Moustakas and Frazier haven't seemed to be very robust, so it's possible one of them will fall into the Mets' lap. However, Morosi adds that the club is coveting versatility among their infield targets, which Moustakas and Frazier don't really qualify for. It's one of the reasons Josh Harrison is a potential trade target of theirs. The Mets currently have Asdrubal Cabrera penciled in at third base, but he can move to second if need be.

According to Jack Curry of YES Network, Chase Headley is expected to be on the bench for Tuesday's AL Wild Card Game against the Twins.

Headley finished the season red-hot, but barring a last-minute change, Curry hears that Todd Frazier will make the start at third base. Jacoby Ellsbury is expected to start at DH while Aaron Hicks will start in center. The official lineup should be announced soon.

Alex Wilson was ejected Thursday against the Yankees for hitting Todd Frazier in the eighth inning.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus was also tossed. New York and Detroit have spent much of the afternoon exchanging bean balls, resulting in several bench-clearing incidents and countless ejections. Wilson worked a scoreless inning before hitting the showers.

Jose Abreu left Friday's game against the Indians with a bruised left leg.

Abreu was helped off after getting plunked by an Andrew Miller slider in the seventh inning. He went 0-for-1 with a walk and a sac fly before exiting. Todd Frazier replaced Abreu at first base with Yolmer Sanchez taking over at third. Abreu is likely headed for X-rays. This would be a big loss for the White Sox.
