Austin Jackson went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and a run scored in Thursday's 12-inning loss to the Rockies.
With the two doubles, Jackson now has six two-baggers on the season. The veteran outfielder has little positive in his statistical ledger to lean on at this juncture. He's slashing just .236/.317/.292 in 33 games. Look elsewhere for fantasy intrigue. May 18 - 2:26 AM

Hunter Pence has been pulled off his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento due to recurring soreness in his right thumb.

Pence has already been sidelined for nearly three weeks and obviously it's going to be a while longer before he returns. with Mac Williamson (concussion) also still out indefinitely, the Giants will continue rolling with Andrew McCutchen in right field and rotate Gregor Blanco, Austin Jackson and Gorkys Hernandez in left and center.

Mac Williamson was scratched from the Giants' starting lineup on Wednesday due to neck stiffness.

Williamson tripped and crashed hard into the left field wall while chasing down a foul ball on Tuesday night, though he did stay in the game initially. Gregor Blanco will start in left field and Austin Jackson will play center field Wednesday versus the Nationals. Williamson has three home runs and six RBI in six games since joining the Giants on April 20 as the corresponding move for Hunter Pence (thumb) landing on the disabled list. He should stick around when Pence returns.

Giants general manager Bobby Evans said Friday that Steven Duggar could begin the year in the minors, in a platoon in the majors, or "he might very well make our club as our center fielder."

In other words, the club is heading into camp with an open mind as to Duggar's role, with the hope that he wows them. Duggar might be the Giants' best defensive option in center field right now, but he's not on the 40-man roster yet and only has 13 games of experience at the Triple-A level. San Francisco would prefer to use Austin Jackson more as a fourth outfielder, but they might be more likely to bring in someone like Jarrod Dyson rather than roll with Duggar in center.

Lonnie Chisenhall (calf) is still out of the Indians lineup on Wednesday against the Angels.

Chisenhall hasn't played since he was removed on Thursday with tightness in his right calf. Austin Jackson is in left field for the Indians on Wednesday.
