Carlos Correa (back) has resumed throwing and running drills.

Correa was shut down a bit after having a setback with his ailing back, but he's resumed baseball activities. He'll need to reel off a few days in a row of workouts with no problems before the Astros consider a rehab assignment plan. Correa seems unlikely to return before the end of the month at this point.

Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that the Yankees "spoke briefly" to the Marlins about Dan Straily, "but the sides don’t appear to be close."

Straily boasts a 2.42 ERA over four starts this month, as he's heated up just in time for the Marlins to shop him. The right-hander is a flyball pitcher with major home run issues, so he wouldn't seem to be a very good fit for Yankee Stadium.

Rockies placed RHP German Marquez on the paternity leave list.

Marquez will be back in time to take his next turn. That turn will come in Colorado, making Marquez a sketchy fantasy bet for the upcoming week.
Jul 22 - 2:29 PM

Rockies activated RHP Antonio Senzatela from the 10-day disabled list.

Senzatela will rejoin the Rockies' rotation on Sunday in Arizona. The right-hander missed the last couple weeks with a blister on his right index finger.
Jul 22 - 2:27 PM

Edubray Ramos was lifted from an appearance Sunday versus the Padres with an apparent left knee injury.

Ramos appeared to tweak the knee while delivering a pitch. He threw a couple warmup pitches in hopes of remaining in the game, but he was still noticeably gimpy and walked off the field gingerly. The Phillies should have more on his status after the game.
Jul 22 - 2:09 PM

Jon Heyman of Fancred reports that there's been "a bit of interest" in Sonny Gray.

Gray has been awful at Yankee Stadium but good on the road, so it's not a surprise that some teams are viewing him as a solid change-of-scenery candidate. However, Heyman adds that the Yankees' "main interest is in adding to their rotation, not subtracting from it." Gray is arbitration-eligible for a final time this winter.
Jul 22 - 1:59 PM

Nationals activated RHP Koda Glover from the 60-day disabled list; optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.

Glover is done with his rehab from a shoulder issue has been up and down while on a rehab assignment, so he'll work on things in the minors for a while. The young reliever has flashed dominance in the past but hasn't been able to stay healthy.
Jul 22 - 1:54 PM

Jedd Gyorko was unavailable Saturday due to illness but could be available off the bench Sunday.

He'll be fine. The Cardinals are going with Matt Carpenter at third base and Jose Martinez at first Sunday.
Jul 22 - 1:39 PM

Yu Darvish (elbow) played catch again Sunday.

Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said Darvish felt good and the next step for the right-hander will be to throw off a mound. It's obviously a big step for Darvish, but he remains a long ways away from rejoining the rotation. He's been out since late May with a right elbow impingement.
Jul 22 - 1:32 PM

Mariners optioned C David Freitas to Triple-A Tacoma.

Freitas is no longer needed with Mike Zunino back from the disabled list. He has hit just .192/.267/.282 over 90 plate appearances.
Jul 22 - 1:26 PM

Mariners activated C Mike Zunino from the 10-day disabled list.

Zunino has missed most of this month with a bruised ankle but is ready to go after playing a couple rehab games. The catcher is hitting just .189/.251/.403 this season but has slugged 12 home runs.
Jul 22 - 1:25 PM

Freddy Peralta will rejoin the Brewers' rotation Wednesday versus the Nationals.

Peralta was optioned before the break but the intention was always to bring him back soon. The right-hander has been up and down in the majors so far but is worth scooping back up given the upside he's displayed. The Brewers will be going with six starters for a while.
Jul 22 - 1:19 PM

Junior Guerra (forearm) will rejoin the Brewers' rotation Tuesday against the Nationals.

Guerra didn't make a rehab start, as he'll be pitching on 10 days' rest as he returns from a right forearm injury. He's had a nice season but looks like a bit of a risky play Tuesday.
Jul 22 - 1:15 PM

Jaime Barria is expected to be recalled to start Monday versus the White Sox.

The Angels haven't announced anything yet, but Barria was spotted in the clubhouse Sunday. He boasts a 3.55 ERA over 13 starts this season.
Jul 22 - 1:13 PM

Angels optioned RHP Taylor Cole to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Cole having options worked against him here, as he put up a 2.25 ERA and 13/4 K/BB ratio over 12 innings. He should be back eventually.
