Andrew Mangiapane's NHL career has already gotten further than he anticipated, but he's looking for more.
"Everyone is saying, ‘Congrats’ and saying, ‘That’s unreal.’ They’re all happy for me," Mangiapane said. "That’s nice to hear. It’s a good feeling. With where I came from, I never really thought I would be playing in the NHL. I’ve come a long way. I’ve come so far. Now, I’m just trying to make the next step and make Calgary full-time." Mangiapane, who was a sixth round pick in 2015, ended up playing in 10 games with Calgary this season. He didn't record a point with the Flames, but he did have 21 goals and 46 points in 39 AHL contests. Unfortunately, his season was cut short in March because he needed shoulder surgery. He's making a nice recovery though, so he should be good to compete for a roster spot during training camp. May 25 - 8:47 AM
