Rams agreed to terms with C Scott Wells, formerly of the Packers.
In a surprising move, Jeff Fisher managed to steal Wells away from the coach's former team and the player's home town. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel suggested early in the day that Wells' preference was Tennessee, and his camp was merely using the Rams for leverage. A top-10 center in each of the two years, according to Pro Football Focus, the 31-year-old Wells is a fine start to a rebuilt offensive line.

Free agent C Scott Wells will visit the Rams.
Wells visited the Titans on Wednesday. According to ESPN's John Clayton, the 31-year-old long-time center for the Packers is drawing "strong interest." He'd be a nice replacement for Jason Brown in St. Louis.

The Titans are making the position a priority after engaging in talks with Chris Myers, the other top center on the market, on Tuesday. Former Vikings guard Steve Hutchinson has also visited Tennessee this week.

Suspended
NFL suspended Rams rookie WR Austin Pettis four games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Barring a successful appeal, the Rams' third-round pick will be suspended for the final two games of this season and the first two of 2012. St. Louis' starting slot receiver since Greg Salas went down Week 9, Pettis has averaged just 2.6 catches for 27.6 yards in six games. St. Louis doesn't have an obvious candidate to man the slot in Weeks 16 and 17, but it's possible KR Nick Miller could get a look. With both Danny Amendola and Salas expected to be 100 percent healthy for 2012 training camp, there's little reason to hold onto Pettis in dynasty leagues.

Hoomanawanui suffered the injury in mid-November. Assuming he takes the normal recovery path, he should be getting close to 100 percent just as training camp opens.
