Nikola Pekovic underwent successful ankle surgery on Tuesday.
The procedure was to remove bone spurs and relieve pain he had battled through during the second half of the season. He has a clear path to playing time next season as the Timberwolves starting center. Pekovic averaged 15.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in that role in his second NBA season.

Nikola Pekovic will have bone spurs removed from his ankle Tuesday.
This is the surgery that Pekovic knew he would have to undergo as he battled through pain down the stretch. It's the same injury that Ray Allen is fighting through right now. Pekovic is expected to resume basketball activities in July and projects as the Wolves' clear starting center in 2012-13.

Nikola Pekovic capped off his season in style with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Wolves' 131-102 loss to the Nuggets on Thursday, hitting 8-of-12 shots with a steal and a block.
J.J. Barea also added 20 points, five assists, and three treys. Pekovic has been playing through bone spurs and deserves massive credit for putting up numbers for owners when many players would have simply called a year. Speaking of which, Rick Adelman was as mad as reporters have ever seen him after the game, calling out players for not caring. In related news, Anthony Randolph scored nine points, Derrick Williams scored four points, and Michael Beasley scored 13 points.

Nikola Pekovic will have the bone spurs surgically removed from his right ankle on May 15.
Credit Pekovic for beasting through the pain even though the Wolves' season is over. In the last five games, he's averaging 16.4 points, 10.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks while logging 33.4 minutes. Pekovic looks like a solid play in Thursday's finale.

Luke Ridnour (ankle) will suit up but is not expected to play in Thursday's finale.
Ridnour severely sprained his ankle on April 2 and never made it back. He ended up starting 53 games for the Wolves this season, but really came on after Ricky Rubio (knee) went down. After the All-Star break, Ridnour averaged 13.3 points, 6.3 assists and 1.3 steals in 21 games. He'll be back next season and his fantasy outlook will depend on the status of Rubio's rehab.

Ricky Rubio (knee surgery) admitted Tuesday that he might not be ready for 2012-13 training camp.
Rubio, who underwent an ACL repair on March 21, will still be on crutches for another four weeks. After that, he'll have a recheck with doctors and then embark on a long rehab process to strengthen his knee. "I want to make sure I'm 100 percent," he said.

Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor is looking for someone to buy the team and keep it in Minnesota.
"Now's the time to do it," Taylor said. "We've negotiated the CBA for 10 years so people can see what the finances are." Although he wants to sell the team to someone from Minnesota, he admitted that might not happen, adding, "I haven't had a lot of Minnesotans step up."
