Tigers acquired SS Willie Castro from the Indians in a three-player deal for OF Leonys Martin.
Castro hasn’t had much success in 2018, but there’s still reason for optimism with the 21-year-old shortstop. He’s a switch-hitter who can make hard contact from both sides of the plate, and as he fills out his frame, he should have average power as well. His speed is also an asset that could give him 20-plus steal seasons if he gets on enough. He’s also a competent defender at shortstop who shouldn’t have to move positions, at least not in the short-term. His floor is utility player, but there’s at least a chance that Castro develops into an everyday shortstop. Jul 31 - 12:52 PM
