Kaleb Cowart went 2-for-4 with his first homer of the year -- a go-ahead grand slam -- and a career-high five RBI in the Angels’ win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
Cowart smashed a go-ahead grand slam off Athletics reliever Lou Trivino in the sixth inning. It was the first grand slam of the year for the Angels and it put them ahead for good in this one. He also added an RBI triple in the eighth inning. The 26-year-old infielder has looked overmatched against big-league pitching, hitting .143/.241/.273 in 87 plate appearances this season.
