Joakim Soria blew his second save of the season Tuesday, allowing two runs while retiring one batter in a loss to the Cardinals.
Soria was tasked with protecting a one-run lead and quickly coughed it up by serving up a leadoff home run to Matt Carpenter. He rebounded to strike out Jose Martinez but then gave up a double to Marcell Ozuna and walk-off single to Yadier Molina. Soria has been scored upon in just two of 11 appearances this season, but he was roughed up in those two outings. Nate Jones pitched around two walks for a scoreless eighth inning Tuesday. Soria will surely get the next save chance and the Pale Hose would like him to keep the job and pitch well so they can trade him in July. May 1 - 11:25 PM
