Crisp was finally placed on the DL a week ago after dealing with an inner ear infection for a few weeks. He's eligible to return on May 18, and it sounds like he'll have a good shot of being ready at that time.

Athletics placed OF Coco Crisp on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 3, with an inner ear infection.
Crisp first started having lingering inner-ear and sinus infections over two weeks ago and has missed quite a few games already. He had to be removed from Wednesday's game after another flare-up, and the A's have decided to no longer treat it as a day-to-day ailment. Michael Taylor will replace him on the roster, but Seth Smith and Jonny Gomes would figure to see most of the starts in left field.

Crisp experienced a flare-up with his inner ear issues on Wednesday night. The A's don't play Thursday, so they can hold off on a 25-man roster decision for a little while. "He had to come out of the game, obviously, which we didn't envision at the start of the game," Oakland manager Bob Melvin said Wednesday. "We'll take the off-day and see where we go from here." Michael Taylor would likely be brought up if Crisp is indeed disabled.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin wouldn't rule out Brandon Inge (groin) returning Wednesday but thinks Thursday is a more realistic target.
Inge has missed the last three games with a lesser version of the groin soreness that forced him to the disabled list last month. Josh Donaldson will start in his place at the hot corner Tuesday.

Sizemore was expected to open the season as the A's starting third baseman, but he tore the ACL in his left knee early in camp and has been ruled out for the entire 2012 season. However, he's fully expected to be ready for spring training next year.

Yoenis Cespedes (left hand strain) has been cleared for all baseball activities expect hitting.
Cespedes is eligible to return from the 15-day disabled list early next week and could be ready by then if the swift progress continues. The 26-year-old Cuban center fielder was batting .245/.319/.434 with five home runs, five doubles four stolen bases and 21 RBI through his first 119 plate appearances as a major leaguer.

The A's have confirmed that Manny Ramirez is scheduled to join the team on May 30 in Minnesota.
May 30 marks the end of Manny Ramirez's 50-game PED suspension, and he'll apparently jump into the starting lineup right away. He'll head to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday to begin playing in minor league games. It's doubtful that the 39-year-old part-time DH will carry much value in mixed fantasy formats, but he may be worth a stash in some AL-only leagues.

Dallas Braden (shoulder) has played catch several times this week, but Athletics manager Bob Melvin said the left-hander is not yet on a throwing program.
It's not clear when he'll begin one, but it shouldn't be far off. Braden, who is coming back from major shoulder surgery, was shut down from throwing for more than a month after a setback at the end of spring training. He's without a timetable.

Anderson recently began throwing live batting practice and hopes to begin a minor league rehab assignment by the end of the month. Barring any setbacks with his surgically-repaired left elbow, he could rejoin the A's rotation as soon as late June or early July. Anderson could make for an interesting DL-stash in AL-only leagues.

The move clears a spot for the newly-claimed Travis Blackley on the active roster. Devine underwent Tommy John surgery last month and will miss the entire 2012 season.
