Maryland redshirt senior QB Caleb Henderson has decided to retire.
Henderson (6'3/215) will remain with the program working in an off-field role, but he's not going to be taking any snaps for the Terps. He took to Twitter to explain that this decision was based on his health, as he broke his foot last spring and was additionally dealing with an elbow injury by season's end. Henderson initially transferred over to Maryland from North Carolina prior to the 2016 campaign and subsequently sat out that campaign to satisfy NCAA regulations. The former four-star recruit ended up attempting just two passes for his collegiate career. As for the Maryland quarterbacks room now sans Henderson, Max Bortenschlager, Legend Brumbaugh and incoming freshman Tyler DeSue will see plenty of work this spring while Tyler Pigrome and Kasim Hill both continue their rehab from torn ACLs. The latter two are expected to be healthy by the start of August camp. Feb 9 - 2:01 PM
