Alabama sophomore RB Najee Harris said that he considered transferring after the season.
"Last year was the worst feeling. That whole season was mentally challenging," Harris said. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder enrolled in Tuscaloosa as Rivals' No. 1 overall recruit in the 2017 class, but was used relatively sparingly for much of the season, receiving double-digit carries in just two games while watching Bo Scarbrough and Damien Harris suck up touches. All told, he rushed for 370 yards (6.1 YPC) and three touchdowns on 61 carries in his inaugural year of collegiate ball. His most memorable game was the biggest of the season, as he rushed for 64 yards on six carries against Georgia in the national championship game to help the Crimson Tide take home the title. That Harris was considering pushing out after the season is more indicative of the mindset of current college players than anything else -- the former five-star recruit knew the backfield would be loaded when he signed on with Alabama last winter. We expect bigger things from him this season. Jul 6 - 11:34 AM
