Elias Kachunga is set for an extended period on the sidelines after scan results confirm the 25-year-old suffered an "isolated knee ligament" injury during the win over Watford.
Kachunga set the Terriers on their way to a resounding 4-1 victory thanks to his opening goal on 6 minutes, although his afternoon was cut short soon following a challenge by Heurelho Gomes. While no blame can be attributed to the Watford goalkeeper, who dived bravely at the feet of Kachunga, the striker went over awkwardly and was stretchered from the pitch. On Monday, Huddersfield confirmed that Kachunga had damaged his MCL [Medial collateral ligament] and, ahead of a specialist visit, estimated that he would be out for between 8-12 weeks. However, there was better news concerning Chris Löwe who was also replaced during the first half at Vicarage Road. The left-back sustained a foot injury in a heavy challenge with Daryl Janmaat although a scan confirms there is no break and he could yet feature on Saturday. Mon, Dec 18, 2017 09:12:00 AM
