Jake DeBrusk scored two goals and assisted on another in Thursday’s 8-5 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

DeBrusk started off his night with the secondary assist on Matt Grzelcyk first goal of the season before getting a goal of his own off a redirect from David Krejci. DeBrusk then capped off his night with another goal, this time on the power play. The 22-year-old winger was a popular breakout candidate before the start of the season but he finds himself at five goals and seven points through the opening 15 games of the season. He has plenty of offensive upside and we'd keep a close eye on him as the season progresses.

T.J. Oshie (upper body) will not play Monday night.

Oshie was not on the ice for the morning skate. Washington is off Tuesday and he has skated since he was slammed to the ice on Friday. It doesn't seem likely that Oshie will be ready to play Wednesday. He is listed as day-to-day.
Nov 19 - 12:20 PM

Evgeny Kuznetsov (upper body) will not play Monday and seems unlikely to play Wednesday.

Kuznetsov, who is suspected to be dealing with a concussion, didn't skate on Monday morning and hasn't been back on the ice yet. Washington will be off on Tuesday, so a return on Wednesday doesn't seem likely either. He is considered to be day-to-day.
Nov 19 - 12:18 PM

Braden Holtby (upper body) will be back in the lineup on Monday night, but he won't start against Montreal.

Coach Todd Reirden indicated that Holtby will start on Wednesday versus Chicago. He wants Holtby to get back into his regular routine before returning from an upper-body injury. He missed two games because of the ailment. Pheonix Copley will face Montreal on Monday night.
Nov 19 - 12:14 PM

Mats Zuccarello (groin) has been ruled out for Monday's match against Dallas.

Zuccarello was not on the ice for the morning skate and will miss his second straight game after re-injuring his groin. He sat out three games before a brief return on Nov. 15.
Nov 19 - 11:44 AM

Sidney Crosby (upper body) will not return Monday night, but he is feeling better.

"I'm not playing tonight, but things are going in the right direction," said Crosby after Pittsburgh's morning skate. Happy with the way I'm feeling. He took part in the morning skate, but rotated in on defense so it was obvious he wasn't going to return. This will be the third straight game he will miss due to an upper-body injury.
Nov 19 - 11:33 AM

David Rittich will be in goal for Monday's game against Vegas.

Rittich is being rewarded with another start after helping the Flames defeat Edmonton on Saturday night. He could string together some starts with Mike Smith struggling mightily. Rittich has been very good this season with a 6-1-0 record, a 1.92 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in nine appearances.

While the surgery on the jaw went well for Cam Fowler on Friday, there is no timetable for his return.

That's probably not good news for Fowler owners as he should be gone for a long time, otherwise there would be a timetable for his return. The Ducks best defenseman had three goals and 10 points in 19 games before the injury.
Nov 19 - 7:17 AM

Brandon Montour picked up a goal and two assists in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Colorado Avalanche.

Montour and the Ducks were in good shape in the second period, as they were up 3-1 late in the frame. Unfortunately for Anaheim, they watched that lead evaporate thanks to goals by Nathan MacKinnon and Gabriel Landeskog. NHL scoring leader Mikko Rantanen then added the game-winning goal with less than two seconds remaining in overtime. Montour ended up finishing the game with a plus-2 rating, two penalty minutes, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in 25:28 of ice time. The 24-year-old has two goals and nine points in 22 games this season.

Mikko Rantanen scored a goal and two assists during Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Anaheim Ducks.

The Avalanche were down 3-1 late in the second period, but that's when their top players went to work. Rantanen registered helpers on goals by Nathan MacKinnon (3-2) and Gabriel Landeskog (3-3). The 22-year-old then scored the game-winner with less than two seconds remaining in the overtime period. Rantanen finished the game with a plus-1 rating, three shots on goal and one hit in 24:13 of ice time. He's been flat-out dominant this season, as he's already up to eight goals and an incredible 32 points in just 20 games in 2018-19.
Nov 18 - 11:16 PM

Leon Draisaitl picked up a goal and an assist in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Draisaitl picked up the primary assist on Alex Chiasson's go-ahead goal (2-1) late in the first period. He also added a goal of his own early in the third period to cut his team's deficit to 6-3. Draisaitl finished the night with a minus-1 rating, three shots on goal and two hits in 21:18 of ice time. The 23-year-old has had a nice week, as he's collected six points in just three contests. Draisaitl is up to 12 goals and 23 points in 20 games this season. That puts him on pace for an impressive 49 goals and 94 points.
Nov 18 - 11:02 PM

Jonathan Marchessault picked up two goals and an assist in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Edmonton Oilers.

Marchessault's power-play goal at the 4:33 mark of the second period gave the Golden Knights a 4-2 lead at the time. He then added his second tally of the game just 34 seconds into the third frame to make it 5-2 for his team. Marchessault registered the primary assist on linemate Reilly Smith's goal less than three minutes later. He finished the night with a plus-1 rating, five shots on goal and two hits in 17:52 of ice time. The 27-year-old had 10 goals and 18 points in 22 games this season. William Karlsson, Cody Eakin and Max Pacioretty also found the back of the net for the Golden Knights on Sunday night.
