Koskinen was in goal for a 4-2 loss to Calgary on Saturday when he surrendered three goals on 36 shots. He has a 4-2-1 record this season with a 2.60 goals-against average and .917 save percentage.

Ben Bishop is slated to miss around a week because of a muscle strain.

"As good as can be. One week's better than four weeks, that's all I know," said Stars GM Jim Nill. If he is only sidelined for a week then Dallas and Bishop fantasy owners have dodged a bullet. Anton Khudobin should serve as a solid fill-in while Bishop recovers.

Vincent Trocheck will undergo surgery today to repair significant damage to his leg, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

Trocheck fell awkwardly on Monday night and got his leg caught underneath him. He is expected to be sidelined long-term after he left the game on a stretcher.

Brooks Orpik has undergone a successful outpatient arthroscopic surgical procedure on his right knee.

Orpik is expected to need four-to-six weeks to recover from the procedure. He hasn't played since Oct. 27 due to the injury.

Patrice Bergeron suffered a rib and sternoclavicular injury this past Friday.

Bergeron will be re-evaluated in about four weeks. This is a significant blow to the Bruins, especially with the plethora of injuries the team has on defense at this time. Bergeron has nine goals and 26 points in 19 games this year.

Ken Hitchcock has been named the new head coach of the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers relieved Todd McLellan of his coaching duties earlier this morning. Hitchcock, who is an Edmonton native, has the third-most wins (823) as a coach in NHL history. Hitchcock was behind the bench for the Dallas Stars in 2017-18 and the team finished out of the playoff picture with a 42-32-8 record.
