Neal Pionk has been called up by the New York Rangers.

Pionk has 17 points and 20 penalty minutes in 48 AHL games this season. This promotion corresponds with the Rangers putting Brendan Smith on waivers.
Feb 8 - 1:16 PM

Alex Stalock will start against the Nashville Predators on Monday.

The Wild haven't used their backup goaltender yet and this is the start of a back-to-back set, so that's why Stalock is drawing in now. He had a 2.85 GAA and .910 save percentage in 28 contests this season.
Oct 15 - 1:10 PM

Dennis Cholowski (upper body) is ready for Monday's game.

Cholowski was sidelined for two contests. The 20-year-old rookie has a goal and three points in three games.
Oct 15 - 12:47 PM

Antti Niemi will play between the pipes Monday night.

Niemi stopped 25 of 28 shots in a 4-3 shootout win over Pittsburgh in his first start of the season. His opponent on Monday will be the Detroit Red Wings. If you're wondering why Niemi is playing in a second straight game, it's probably because Carey Price was recently dealing with the flu, but that hasn't been confirmed.
Oct 15 - 12:45 PM

Andrew Shaw is dealing with the flu.

Shaw will miss Monday's game as a result. He has a goal and an assist in four games this season.
Oct 15 - 12:38 PM

Tomas Plekanec will be in the Montreal Canadiens' lineup on Monday.

Plekanec spent three games in the press box before making his season debut on Saturday. This will be the 1,000th game of his NHL career.
Oct 15 - 12:28 PM

Justin Schultz underwent successful surgery on Sunday to repair a fracture of his lower left leg.

Schultz is expected to miss the next four months. He was injured in Saturday's contest against Montreal.
Oct 15 - 11:51 AM

Elias Pettersson (head) will be out for at least 7-10 days.

Pettersson could be on the sidelines longer depending on how long symptoms last. He suffered a head injury on Saturday. Pettersson is with the team on the road, but won't play against Pittsburgh (Tuesday) or Winnipeg (Thursday).
Oct 15 - 11:30 AM

Anthony Beauvillier has been moved off the top line with the Islanders and has been replaced by Andrew Ladd.

That is what no points in four games will get you coming out of the gate as Beauvillier has struggled in the early going. Coach Barry Trotz thought that Beauvillier was trying too hard and was forcing things and told the winger that he was considering switching up the lines. "When he talked to me, it was just about to get me to loosen up a little bit and play to my identity," said Beauvillier. "In his opinion, I’m a top-six forward but he might change it to spark things up. Right now, my game is not on point." Beauvillier is seeing third line time with Valtteri Filppula and Cal Clutterbuck. He had 15 goals and 36 points last season and should be back as a top-six forward quickly.
Oct 15 - 8:41 AM

Patrik Laine scored a goal during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

In his typical spot on the left circle, Laine took a feed from Blake Wheeler and one-timed a blast into an open net for his second goal of the year. Micheal Ferland tied the game up three minutes later but the Jets got the next two goals to come away with the win. Laine's goal snapped his three-game pointless streak and he now finds himself at three points in five games.
Oct 14 - 9:56 PM

The Anaheim Ducks will have Ryan Miller in goal on Sunday versus the St. Louis Blues.

It will mark Miller's first start of the season after he came into Saturday night's game against Dallas in relief of John Gibson. Miller stopped all six shots he faced in that contest.
Oct 14 - 6:37 PM

Petr Mrazek will start Sunday night against Winnipeg.

The Hurricanes had Curtis McElhinney between the pipes for Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over Minnesota, so Mrazek will play the second half of the back-to-back situation. He has a 1-0-1 record this season with a 3.53 goals-against average and .841 save percentage.
