Scott Darling will get the nod for Carolina on Friday versus Vancouver.

The game is the first half of a back-to-back set, so Cam Ward will likely start on Saturday. Darling has struggled this season with a 9-14-6 record, 3.06 GAA, and .892 save percentage in 30 games.

Corey Crawford allowed one goal on 25 shots in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over the Anaheim Ducks.

It was a goaltending duel tonight between arguably the hottest two goaltenders in the league. Crawford continues to look impressive since making his way back from a concussion that sidelined him for 300 days. He is in complete command of his crease, allowing very little second chance opportunities to his opponents. Chicago’s starter will see his record improve to 2-1-0 with a 1.69 goals-against-average and a .946 save percentage.
Oct 23 - 11:24 PM

Brent Burns scored a goal and assisted on two others during Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Nashville Predators.

Brent Burns fed Joonas Donskoi with a cross-ice feed before Timo Meier put the rebound in behind Juuse Saros to open the scoring. With the Sharks down 4-2 in the third period, Burns picked up the secondary assist on Brendan Dillon’s shorthanded goal before completing the comeback with a goal of his own at the 17:08 mark of the final frame. The 33-year-old Burns has had an impressive start to the season with two goals and 10 points in nine games this season. Timo Meier, Tomas Hertl and Joe Pavelski also scored in the win.
Oct 23 - 10:53 PM

Christian Fischer scored three goals during Tuesday’s 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Fischer combined with Derek Stepan for all of his goals, with the first coming when the Blue Jackets left Fischer alone in front and the second on a beautiful feed to give Arizona a 3-1 lead. Finally, Fischer capped off his night when Stepan found him in the slot alone and he wired home a wrister. Not only was tonight Fischer’s first career hat trick, but it was also his first multi-goal game. He is now up to 22 goals and 40 points in 94 career games. The 21-year-old winger finds himself at four goals in eight games this season. Dylan Strome also scored in the win.
Oct 23 - 9:40 PM

Darcy Kuemper will start Tuesday night against Columbus.

It was originally reported that Antti Raanta would face the Blue Jackets, but that has changed. Raanta missed the morning skate for maintenance, but whatever was bothering him has seemingly prevented him from playing on Tuesday.
Oct 23 - 6:50 PM

Elias Pettersson (concussion) might be back during Vancouver's two-game road trip that starts Wednesday.

Pettersson practiced on Tuesday and said afterward that he feels "very good." However, he isn't sure if he will be ready to play Wednesday. "Maybe, maybe not," he said. "This is my first practice with the team, and I'm taking it day by day. The medical team here helped me a lot and [said] should take it day by day and rather rest one extra day."
Oct 23 - 5:44 PM

Henrik Lundqvist is dealing with a minor upper-body injury.

Alexandar Georgiev will start Tuesday's game against Florida. Coach David Quinn said he wanted to get Georgiev into a game, particularly at home, and Lundqvist has played seven of the team's eight matches. The Rangers bench boss noted that the injury Lundqvist has been playing through wouldn't have prevented him from starting Tuesday.
Oct 23 - 5:34 PM

Brock Boeser is dealing with a groin injury, per coach Travis Green.

There was some speculation that Boeser may have been hurt on the shot he was hit by on Monday, but his groin has been bothering him since at least last Thursday. Boeser didn't skate on Tuesday and is listed as day-to-day.
Oct 23 - 5:01 PM

Torey Krug (ankle) is not expected to play this week.

"He's not ready yet. Won't play this week," said coach Bruce Cassidy. "But now he's closer. If he's never on the ice, then it's kind of out of sight, out of mind. But now he's back in the mix." Krug skated with his teammates on Tuesday morning.
Oct 23 - 4:03 PM

Nick Ritchie is expected to play in Tuesday's match against Chicago.

Ritchie has been added to Anaheim's roster after getting his visa paperwork settled. He was on the top line with Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell during the morning skate.
Oct 23 - 1:53 PM

David Rittich will be back in the crease for Tuesday's game against Montreal.

Rittich will get a second straight start after he made 44 saves in a 4-1 win over the Ranges on Sunday. He has a 2-0-0 record with a 1.30 goals-against average and .962 save percentage in three appearances this season.
Oct 23 - 12:42 PM

Alexander Radulov (lower body) won't play on Tuesday.

Radulov was on the ice for the team's optional morning skate and he took part in Monday's practice, but he isn't ready to return yet. This will be the second straight game he will miss.
