Patrice Bergeron scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 6-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Bergeron did all of his damage in the first 10 minutes of the second period, as his first goal made it 3-1 for Boston, while his second tally (shorthanded) extended his team's lead to 5-1. The veteran finished the game with a plus-2 rating and a game-high seven shots on goal in 18:10 of ice time. The Bruins forward has registered at least one point in 13 of his last 16 games. He's up to 24 goals and 46 points in 47 games in 2017-18. Not only is he one of the best defensive forwards in the game, he's also showing that he can chip in offensively with the best of them. Bergeron is a must-start in all fantasy formats right now.
Feb 7 - 10:43 PM

Tyler Seguin scored his 30th of the season in a 2-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night.

For the fourth time in his career, Seguin has registered a 30-goal season. He last accomplished the feat during the 2015-16 season, where he scored 33 in 72 games for Dallas. Seguin also registered four shots on goal and a +1 rating in 18:29 of ice-time Thursday. The Stars needed just one other goal on Friday, coming courtesy of Alexander Radulov. The must-start fantasy commodity has 30 goals and 52 points in 61 games this season.
Feb 23 - 1:47 AM

Sean Monahan scored his 28th of the season, and added an assist, in a 5-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night.

Monahan scored two points, with three shots on goal, and a +1 rating in 18:05 of ice-time in the Flames' win over Arizona. The forward now has points in four of his last five games for the Flames, and has 28 goals and 57 points in 61 games this season.
Feb 23 - 1:19 AM

Pekka Rinne stopped 33 of 34 shots in Thursday's 7-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

The Predators had a slim 2-1 advantage late in the second period, but they managed to score five consecutive goals over the final 24:03 of the game. The victory was the 300th of Rinne's career. He's now just the third Finnish goaltender ever to reach that mark (Miikka Kipprusoff and Kari Lehtonen are the other two). The 35-year-old has four wins his last five games. He'll head into his next start with a 31-9-4 record with a 2.32 goals-against-average and a .927 save percentage.
Feb 23 - 12:39 AM

Ryan Johansen scored a goal and an assist in Thursday's 7-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

Johansen helped set up Kevin Fiala's second-period goal that gave the Predators a 3-1 lead at the time. He then added a tally of his own at the 6:30 mark of the third frame to extend Nashville's lead to 5-1. Johansen finished the game with an even rating, one shot on goal and one hit in 17:22 of ice time. The 25-year-old has now accumulated five points in his last five games. He's up to eight goals and 39 points in 57 games. The Predators have had a great season, but Johansen's production has been a little disappointing in 2017-18. Nick Bonino, Scott Hartnell, Viktor Arvidsson, Mattias Ekholm and Calle Jarnkrok also scored for Nashville in the win.
Feb 23 - 12:30 AM

Vincent Trocheck scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals.

The Panthers found themselves down 2-1 with under four minutes remaining in regulation, but that's when they got goals from Nick Bjugstad and Trocheck to give them the win. Trocheck finished the game with two penalty minutes, four shots on goal and two hits in 23:43 of ice time. The 24-year-old now has 23 goals and 54 points in 58 games this season. He's accumulated six points in his last six games. Maxim Mamin also scored for the Panthers on Thursday.
Feb 23 - 12:13 AM

Rasmus Ristolainen netted a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Detroit Red Wings.

Ristolainen opened the scoring at the 3:39 mark of the first period, when he beat a screened Jimmy Howard with a wrist shot from the point. He also helped set up Evander Kane's power-play tally in the second frame to give the Sabres 2-1 lead at the time. Ristolainen finished the game with a plus-1 rating, three shots on goal, three hits and four blocked shots in 28 minutes of ice time. The 23-year-old has racked up seven points in his last seven games. He's up to six goals, 29 points and a minus-14 ratings in 52 games this season. Marco Scandella scored the game-winner in overtime.

Auston Matthews (upper body) was not able to finish Thursday's game against the New York Islanders.

Matthews was sandwiched between Islanders Adam Pelech and Cal Clutterbuck shortly after scoring the game-tying goal. He left the game and didn't return. The Leafs expect to know more about his status on Friday, but it looked like a possible shoulder issue. The 20-year-old has 28 goals and 50 points in 53 games this season. Losing him for an extended period of time would be devastating for a Maple Leafs team that went 2-4-0 without him during a six-game stretch in December. They also went 4-0-0 when he was dealing with an upper-body injury in the month of November.
Feb 22 - 11:37 PM

Tomas Plekanec scored a goal and an assist in Thursday's 3-1 win over the New York Rangers.

Plekanec opened the scoring at the 6:59 mark of the first period gave the Canadiens a 1-0 lead at the time. He also helped set up Phillip Danault's empty-netter with just over a minute remaining in regulation. The veteran now has six goals and 24 points in 60 games this season. The 35-year-old is on an expiring contract, so there's a chance the Canadiens could trade him before Monday's deadline. Plekanec doesn't need to be owned in any fantasy format. Jeff Petry also found the back of the net for Montreal.
Feb 22 - 11:32 PM

The New York Rangers have traded Michael Grabner to the New Jersey Devils.

The Rangers received defense prospect Igor Rykov and a second-round draft pick in the deal. Grabner was made a healthy scratch in tonight's game against the Canadiens because a trade was imminent, so this move isn't a surprise. The 30-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He has 25 goals and 31 points in 59 games this season. He'll provide the Devils with some added speed and scoring.
Feb 22 - 10:44 PM

Brayden Point scored the game-winning goal with a second left in the second period as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Ottawa Senators 4-3 on Thursday night.

Point has now scored in three straight games and has points in each of his last six games. His goal with a second left in the second period put the Lightning up 4-1. The Senators scored two goals in the third period to keep the game close but couldn't complete the comeback. Point now has 24 goals and 53 points in 61 games so far this season.
Feb 22 - 10:28 PM

Eric Staal scored a late goal to earn his 900th NHL point as the Minnesota Wild defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Thursday night.

Staal's 27th goal of the year came with a little over a minute left in regulation and into an empty net to secure the win for the Wild, who came back from a 2-0 deficit with three second period goals. This may open up debate on whether or not the 900 points earn him a spot in the Hall-of-Fame. He now has 27 goals and 54 points in 60 games this season.
