Alec Martinez (lower body) took part in Tuesday's practice.

Martinez also skated on Monday, so it seems like he's getting close to returning. That being said, his status is still up in the air when it comes to Wednesday's contest. "I’m not sure yet," Kings coach John Stevens said in reference to Martinez's availability. "He skated again today, I’ll wait to see how he responds."

David Pastrnak scored a goal and registered three shots on net in a 3-2 overtime loss against the Edmonton Oilers Thursday night.

The Czech winger extended his point streak to six games Thursday night with his game-tying third period goal against Edmonton. Pastrnak, 1/3 of Boston's best line with Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron, has picked up a point in all but one game this season.

Leon Draisaitl scored the Oilers' overtime winner in a 3-2 victory over the Boston Bruins on Thursday night.

The big German centre scored the Oilers' game-winner 37 seconds into overtime, giving the Oilers their third straight win. It's also the third straight game with a point for Draisaitl. He has two goals and six points in five games.

Jonathan Toews picked up an assist during Thursday’s 4-1 loss to the Arizona Coyotes.

Erik Gustafsson started a breakout with a feed to Alex DeBrincat who found Toews who dished it back to Gustafsson for a pretty goal. The primary assist has extended Toews’ point streak to six games to open the season, giving Chicago’s captain an impressive 10 points. After years of declining offensive production, the 30-year-old center seems to have found the fountain of youth playing alongside DeBrincat and Dominik Kahun.

Clayton Keller scored a goal and assisted on another during Thursday’s 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jordan Oesterle sent a beautiful feed from his own end, off the glass right onto Keller’s stick to start a two-on-one that Lawson Crouse finished to open the scoring. Keller then added a third period goal after intercepting a terrible pass from Chris Kunitz to put the game away for the Coyotes. After starting the year with just one point through the opening five games, the 20-year-old winger finds himself at three in six. Vinnie Hinostroza (x2) also scored in the win.
Oct 18 - 11:10 PM

Gabriel Landeskog scored three goals during Thursday’s 5-3 win over the New Jersey Devils.

Landeskog skated into the zone with speed and roofed one over Keith Kinkaid for his first of the night before deflecting home his second of the night to tie the game midway through the final period. Landeskog then capped off his night with the game-winner, this time blasting a one-timer from the left circle. The Swedish winger now finds himself with five goals and eight points through the opening seven games of the season. The Avalanche have handed New Jersey their first loss of the season. Sven Andrighetto and Mikko Rantanen also scored in the win.

Matt Murray stopped all 38 shots he faced during Pittsburgh's 3-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In his first game back since suffering a concussion, Murray looked incredibly sharp. Coming out to the top of his crease confidently and absorbing shots while giving up very few second chance opportunities to the Leafs. It’s a great confidence booster for the 24-year-old goaltender who had given up a combined 11 goals through his opening two starts against Washington and Montreal. His record improves to 2-1-0 with a 3.65 goals-against-average and .893 save percentage.
Oct 18 - 9:48 PM

Evgeni Malkin scored two goals during Pittsburgh’s 3-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the Penguins on the man-advantage due to a too many men on the ice call, Malkin took a pass from Kris Letang and fired an innocent looking shot from a tight angle that beat Frederik Andersen. Then with the net empty, Malkin flipped the puck off of Nazem Kadri and in from just outside the blue line for his second of the night, and third of the season. The Russian center is now up to an impressive 11 points through six games this season. The 32-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down. Kris Letang also added an empty net goal.
Oct 18 - 9:41 PM

Anders Nilsson will get another start for the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday when they face the Winnipeg Jets.

This will mark the fourth straight start for Nilsson. He was won the previous three, posting a 1.67 goals-against-average and a .943 save percentage. The Swedish netminder could make for an interesting story if he could continue his strong and consistent play going throughout the season.
Oct 18 - 6:01 PM

Jonathan Quick (lower body) has been taken off the injured reserve list.

In a corresponding move, Peter Budaj has been sent to the AHL. Quick was also the first goaltender to leave the ice following Thursday's morning skate. The stage appears to be set for him to make his return in Thursday's contest against the Islanders.
Oct 18 - 5:38 PM

Johnny Gaudreau is not dealing with concussion symptoms after being pulled from Wednesday's game.

After Gaudreau absorbed a hit from Charlie McAvoy midway through the third period, a concussion spotter ended Gaudreau's night. The results of Gaudreau's testing weren't immediately known after the contest, but it seems everything is fine. Look for Gaudreau to play on Friday.
Oct 18 - 3:42 PM

Frederik Andersen (knee) will start for the Maple Leafs on Thursday.

Andersen missed Monday's game due to the injury. He has a 3.02 GAA and .899 save percentage in five contests this season.
