Kris Versteeg (hip) was on the ice in full equipment before practice on Monday.

Versteeg has been sidelined since Nov. 24 due to a hip injury. This is an encouraging sign and the next step will be to rejoin the Flames for practices, but that isn't expected to happen for a few weeks.

Robin Lehner made 28 saves in a 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Kings Thursday night, but the Islanders pulled him in the third period after he took a puck to his mask.

Islanders head coach Barry Trotz wouldn't divulge whether or not Lehner went through the concussion protocol and couldn't provide an update on his Swedish netminder, who otherwise did well thanks to the offensive support in front of him. Lehner's record improves to 2-1-0 with a 2.10 GAA and a .935 save percentage.

The primary assist has extended Toews’ point streak to six games to open the season, giving Chicago’s captain an impressive 10 points. Jordan Oesterle sent a beautiful feed from his own end, off the glass right onto Keller’s stick to start a two-on-one that Lawson Crouse finished to open the scoring. Keller then added a third period goal after intercepting a terrible pass from Chris Kunitz to put the game away for the Coyotes. After starting the year with just one point through the opening five games, the 20-year-old winger finds himself at three in six. Vinnie Hinostroza (x2) also scored in the win.
