Filip Forsberg (upper body) has been activated off the injured reserve list.

That seems to suggest that Forsberg will draw into the Predators' lineup on Thursday. As previously noted, Pontus Aberg was skating with the scratches during the morning skate, so he might be who is drawing out of the lineup to make room for Forsberg. This would be Forsberg's first game since Dec. 29. He has 15 goals and 34 points in 37 contests this season.

Cam Ward will play between the pipes Sunday night.

Corey Crawford started on Saturday, so it makes sense to give him the game off, especially given that he only recently returned from a nearly year-long absence. Ward has a 4.06 GAA and .879 save percentage in five contests this season.

The rumor mill has Elias Pettersson (concussion) returning this week.

It ranges from Monday (highly unlikely) to Saturday (the Canucks return home after a road trip) but it is just as likely to happen on Thursday. The rookie skated for 30 minutes on Saturday and it appears that barring any setback, he will be back this week. He has five goals and eight points in five games thus far.
Oct 21 - 11:54 AM

Cory Schneider (hip) played for the first time this season, albeit in the AHL.

Schneider is returning after off-season hip surgery and made seasonal debut in the AHL, stopping 28-of-31 shots in a 4-0 loss. For me, personally, it was about how it felt to compete again," Schneider said. "It felt pretty good." Barring any setbacks, Schneider should return to the Devils lineup within a week.
Oct 21 - 8:01 AM

Seth Jones (knee) could return to action as early as Tuesday.

Jones practiced for the sixth straight day Saturday and it was a hard workout as he stayed on the ice afterwards to work with others who did not play on Saturday. The talented blueliner is a must start once he is back in the lineup after a career high 57 points last season. "I can’t give you a specific date," Jones said. "Nor can the trainers, I don’t think. I don’t know how it’s going to do on Monday at practice. We’ll just see. It’s just day by day, how confident I am on it, with contact and all that stuff."
Oct 21 - 7:21 AM

Marc-Andre Fleury allowed just one goal on 18 saves in Saturday's 3-1 victory against Anaheim Ducks to secure his 408th career NHL win.

With the victory, Fleury moves into sole possession of 10th-place on the all-time NHL wins list, breaking a tie with Hall of Famer Glenn Hall. After a slow start, Fleury has allowed just two goals over his past three outings, all wins. He has a 4-3-0 record, 2.45 goals-against average and .901 save percentage through his seven appearances. The Golden Knights are off until Wednesday night against the Canucks.
Oct 21 - 5:01 AM

Jacob Markstrom allowed just one goal on 31 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime victory against the Bruins.

Markstrom was beaten at the 7:45 mark of the third period by Joakim Nordstrom for his only goal allowed, but he rebounded nicely and didn't give anything up down the stretch in regulation or into overtime. In fact, this was easily Markstrom's most solid performance of the season. He squared his record at 2-2-0 while chopping his goals-against average down to a more manageable 3.23 with a .903 save percentage. The Canucks host the Capitals on Monday night in a much bigger test.
Oct 21 - 3:04 AM

Juuse Saros stopped all 31 shots he faced in Saturday's 3-0 victory in Edmonton, securing his first shutout of the season.

Saros had a giant performance against a high-octane offense, stepping up big with Pekka Rinne (upper body) exiting Friday's game in Calgary with an upper-body injury. The Oilers probably would rather face Rinne, as Saros has stopped all 77 shots he has faced through two games in Edmonton in his career. If Rinne is unavailable Tuesday against San Jose then Saros will make his second straight start.
Oct 21 - 2:44 AM

Mark Stone scored two goals and picked up an assist during Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Stone started off his night with a goal off of a brutal Karl Alzner turnover and followed that up with the secondary assist from Matt Duchene’s second period power play marker. Stone's night was then capped off with a one-timer in overtime for the win. His even strength goal in the first period tied him with Milan Michalek for the 13th most even strength goals in Senators history. The 26-year-old winger is up to four goals and six points in seven games this season.
Oct 20 - 10:33 PM

Dennis Cholowski scored a goal and assisted on another during Thursday’s 4-3 overtime win over the Florida Panthers.

The Red Wings used a big second period led by Cholowski to overturn a 2-0 first period deficit, scoring three times during the second, with Cholowski starting it with a goal at 5:47 mark and an assist just 18 seconds later. The 20-year-old rookie blueliner finds himself at two goals and five points through six games this season. He continues to play a prominent role on Detroit’s blueline and will return fantasy value as long as he continues to get power play time.
Oct 20 - 10:21 PM

Alex DeBrincat scored a goal during Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

DeBrincat was left alone in the slot when he took a feed from Dominik Kahun and fired off a quick shot behind Sergei Bobrovsky for the goal. DeBrincat is off to an incredible start to the season, picking up at least a point in all seven games, scoring seven times and totaling 11 points. The 20-year-old is shaping into one of the steals of draft season. Patrick Kane (x2) and Marcus Kruger also scored in the win.
Oct 20 - 10:04 PM

It appears Ryan Getzlaf is good-to-go on Saturday night when the Ducks face the Golden Knights.

Getzlaf took part in Friday's practice and got through a warmup unscathed. The 33-year-old center has two points in two games this season.
