Cam Newton did not rule out another offseason surgery on his throwing shoulder.

The shoulder, surgically repaired a year and a half ago, is once again a story after Newton was pulled in favor of Taylor Heinicke for a Hail Mary late in last week's loss. Newton says he is "healthy enough to play," but coach Ron Rivera said the team is "ready to do something different if we have to." It would be a shock if Newton sits while the Panthers are still in the playoff hunt, but perhaps that changes if they are knocked out of contention. Even with a bad shoulder, Cam is the overall QB3 so far this season.

An infection in Derrius Guice's torn ACL required three additional knee surgeries and brings his 2019 availability into question.

Guice tore his ACL last preseason and should've made a smooth recovery, but the infection severely complicated his rehab. The infection lasted two months after Guice's ACL tear, "prompting seven weeks of heavy rounds of antibiotics through a catheter in his arm." Guice admitted there is "no specific timeline" for his return. This is especially unfortunate news after Alex Smith's complicated broken-leg surgery put Smith's NFL future into doubt.

Coach Pete Carroll said Doug Baldwin (hip) is "day to day."

Baldwin remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice. The Seahawks are hoping he'll only miss one game, but his status indicates he's not off to a great start. Tyler Lockett would see the biggest boost in targets if Baldwin doesn't get cleared.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Eric Berry (questionable, heel) is expected to play in Week 15 against the Chargers.

Berry was healthy enough to return Sunday, but the Chiefs held him out with a short turnaround this week. Sidelined since last year's opener, it's likely Berry's snaps are limited in his debut. Berry's presence is a needed upgrade to a Chiefs secondary that's graded near the bottom of the league.
Dec 12 - 5:19 PM

Allen Robinson (hip) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Robinson played his normal snaps on Sunday night, so it's possible the Bears are just giving him a breather. He'll take a four-game touchdown drought into this week's matchup with Green Bay.
Dec 12 - 5:14 PM

Ben Roethlisberger (ribs) didn't practice on Wednesday.

Roethlisberger took a shot to the ribs in last week's loss to Oakland, though it shouldn't keep him from playing in Sunday's all important game against the Patriots. Ben threw for 281 yards and a pair of touchdowns when these teams squared off a year ago at Heinz Field.
Dec 12 - 4:55 PM

James Conner (ankle) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.

It's not a good sign for Conner's Week 15 status. Conner may be dealing with a high-ankle sprain — a 2-4 week injury. Jaylen Samuels will get another start against the Patriots if Conner sits.
Dec 12 - 4:53 PM

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms Tyreek Hill (questionable, heel/wrist) will play Week 15 against the Chargers.

Hill is contending with heel and wrist injuries, but even with the short week, he'll be out there Thursday night as Kansas City seeks to clinch the AFC West for the third straight season. Hill dominated his matchup with Casey Hayward when these teams met in Week 1, exploding for 169 yards and two touchdowns on seven catches. Even at less than 100 percent, he'll be safe to fire up as a WR1 in all formats.
Dec 12 - 4:46 PM

Austin Hooper (leg) didn't practice Wednesday.

It's a not a good start to the week for Hooper, though the Falcons have yet to rule him out. With Logan Paulsen (knee) also sidelined, Eric Saubert could see an expanded role in Week 15.
Dec 12 - 4:27 PM

Julio Jones (foot) didn't practice Wednesday.

Jones also missed practice time last week with his foot injury. Coach Dan Quinn said he expects Jones to play Sunday. Even at less than 100 percent, Jones will remain a locked-in WR1.
Dec 12 - 4:23 PM

Ezekiel Elliott (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.

Elliott is fully expected to play Sunday against the Colts. He routinely uses Wednesdays as maintenance days. Elliott should be back on Thursday.

The NFL announced the 2020 NFL draft will be held in Las Vegas.

Nashville is getting the 2019 draft, which had already been previously announced. Vegas is getting the Raiders in 2020, and this will be a sort-of kickoff party to that. Vegas beat out Cleveland/Canton, Kansas City, and Denver in the race for the 2020 draft. Hopefully for Vegas' sake, the Raiders get their act together before then and find some quality pro talent.
