Marquise Goodwin (thigh) is not practicing Wednesday.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said Goodwin suffered a thigh bruise in the Week 1 loss to the Vikings. He struggled to come back that day and remains day to day. If Goodwin is unable to go, rookie Dante Pettis would play an increased role.

Speaking after Thursday's win over the Jets, Browns coach Hue Jackson said he would have to "watch the tape" before naming his Week 4 starter.

The tape will tell Jackson to start Mayfield, and the No. 1 overall pick will be under center against the Raiders.

Carlos Hyde rushed 23 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns' Week 3 win over the Jets.

He added two receptions for five yards. No joke: Hyde then had to rush to the hospital for the birth of his child. Best wishes to the Hyde family. As for the game, nearly all of Hyde's damage, including both his scores, came after Baker Mayfield checked in for Tyrod Taylor (concussion). The Browns' offense looked reborn with Mayfield under center, complicating the defense's thinking and freeing up running lanes. Hyde took advantage with his trademark power running. Hyde will be an upside RB2 for a tasty Week 4 matchup with the Raiders.

Sam Darnold completed 15-of-31 passes for 169 yards, zero touchdowns and two interceptions in New York's 21-17, Week 3 loss to the Browns.

Whereas Baker Mayfield stole the show, Darnold stunk up the joint. He might as well have had "rookie" tattooed on his forehead. For their part, the Jets were terrified of Darnold making a mistake, calling a horizontal passing offense. It resulted in some nice catch-and-runs for Quincy Enunwa but severely capped the Jets' point ceiling for the evening. Of course, Darnold proved the Jets' caution correct when he immediately tossed a pair of late-game picks when forced into comeback mode. Darnold has now turned in back-to-back unimpressive performances after his Week 1 throttling of the Lions. He has 10 days to review tape before a foreboding Week 4 matchup with the Jaguars.

On in relief of an injured Tyrod Taylor (concussion), Baker Mayfield completed 17-of-23 passes for 201 yards, zero touchdowns and zero interceptions in the Browns' 21-17, Week 3 win over the Jets.

It was the Browns' first victory in 635 days. Unfathomable. With all due respect to Taylor, Mayfield looked like he was playing a different sport. Quick and decisive where Taylor was methodical and inaccurate, Mayfield was firing lasers. His numbers would have been even better if not for a few drops, though he was also lucky to escape without an interception. There will be some rookie growing pains, but Mayfield is going to transform an offense that was close to unwatchable throughout its first 2.5 games. His insertion under center will vault David Njoku back into TE1 consideration while putting Antonio Callaway on the WR3 map.

The Dallas Morning News reports Terrance Williams is facing a 2-4 game suspension for his offseason arrest.

Williams has made predictably zero impact through the Cowboys' first two games. We suppose his blocking will be missed if he earns a ban.
Sep 20 - 10:51 PM

Tyrod Taylor has been diagnosed with a concussion and is week to week.

It makes for a cruel end to an extremely ugly night. Especially with the Browns having 10 days to prepare for Week 4, they will go ahead and make the switch at quarterback. Baker Mayfield will start against the Raiders with Taylor backing him up. That's if he can clear the concussion protocol in time. Taylor was going to be benched regardless of his health. His play was that poor through his first 2.5 starts.
Sep 20 - 10:08 PM

Marquise Goodwin (thigh) remained "limited" on Thursday.

Goodwin is looking 50-50 to suit up for Sunday's dream matchup with the Chiefs. He will be a viable WR3 if he can get the go-ahead for the likely shootout.
Sep 20 - 7:05 PM

Jarvis Landry (knee) is active for Week 3 against the Jets.

Landry just needed some maintenance during the week. He will be his usual, highly-targeted WR2 self against the Jets. Inactive for the Browns are QB Drew Stanton, WR Rod Streater, LB Christian Kirksey, TE Seth DeValve, DL Emmanuel Ogbah, DL Ifeadi Odenigb and DL Devaroe Lawrence.
Sep 20 - 6:52 PM

Cole Beasley was added to the Cowboys' injury report on Thursday, getting in a limited session with an ankle issue.

The Cowboys' No. 1 passing game weapon was apparently injured in Thursday's practice. As of now, there's no indication he will sit out Sunday's game against the Seahawks, but Friday's practice will tell the tale.
Sep 20 - 4:33 PM

Josh Gordon (hamstring) remained "limited" in Thursday's practice.

Gordon is expected to play against the Lions, but his involvement figures to be limited, more because of playbook considerations than his hamstring "injury." Gordon's upside is self evident, but so is his Week 3 downside. He's a high-risk, high-reward WR4 for his Patriots debut.
Sep 20 - 4:15 PM

Rob Gronkowski (ankle) was added to the injury report as a limited participant at Thursday's practice.

We don't know much about Gronk's injury at the moment and knowing the tight-lipped Patriots, that might remain the case. Late-week additions to the injury report are never a good sign, but there's no real reason to worry yet. On the off chance Gronk sits, it would open up targets for Chris Hogan, James White, etc. etc.
