Vikings GM Rick Spielman admitted there remains uncertainty whether Teddy Bridgewater's contract will toll for 2018, which would reject him free agency this year.

All three of Bridgewater, Case Keenum, and Sam Bradford are currently scheduled to become free agents on March 14. However, since Bridgewater spent the first part of the season on reserve/PUP, there may be a hurdle for him to clear for free agency. In the CBA, it says a player in the final year of his deal will have his contract toll another year if he spends the first six games of said year on PUP. "Right now, he’s technically ready to become a free agent," Spielman said. "With the tolling, it’s not a Vikings [decision], that’s an NFL and player union [issue] that will have to decide that." It sounds like Spielman could push for tolling but blame it on the league if it happens.

Speaking Tuesday, Panthers owner David Tepper said he had "no idea" if Cam Newton would undergo offseason shoulder surgery.

Looking perhaps 60-70 percent healthy down the stretch because of his shoulder, Newton was held out for Weeks 16 and 17. Newton underwent shoulder surgery following the 2016 season and has not ruled out another operation. The time to decide will be soon, though rest and rehab is always the preferable course. The problem is it often fails.

Jets hired Gregg Williams as defensive coordinator.

Williams was somewhat of a laughingstock as Browns defensive coordinator in 2017, but he did a better job in 2018 as he served as interim head coach. Devoted to aggression and deep safety drops, Williams has coached just about everywhere and overseen some strong defenses, most famously the Super Bowl winning Saints in 2009. He has some interesting pieces to work with in New York, but he's inheriting a unit that was nothing special in 2018. He figures to butt heads with coach Adam Gase.

FOX/CBS Indianapolis reports the Colts would like to re-sign impending free agent K Adam Vinatieri.

Asked about Vinatieri at Monday's season-ending press conference, GM Chris Ballard said "we'll see." Ballard did say he "absolutely" believes Vinatieri can still kick at the age of 46. Vinatieri has said he wants to return. This shouldn't take long.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson confirmed Carson Wentz "is the quarterback going forward."

This became a question after Nick Foles led the Eagles on another late-seaosn run including a playoff win, but the reality is there was not much of a decision to be made. Wentz is younger, will likely be cheaper for the next two seasons, and is a better quarterback when healthy. The when healthy part is certainly a concern following two injury-shortened seasons, but EVP Howie Roseman expressed "confidence in his ability to be our quarterback and to be hopefully a 19-game starter." The Eagles will likely look to tag-and-trade Foles this offseason.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports ex-Cardinals OC Mike McCoy is interviewing for the Jaguars' offensive coordinator vacancy.

McCoy has been fired during the season by two different organizations in the last two years. The Jaguars are not an enticing landing spot for an offensive coach, but they should be able to do better.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports ex-Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter is interviewing for the same job with the Cardinals.

Cooter's final season with the Lions was a disaster, but he had Matthew Stafford playing the best football of his career before Matt Patricia showed up. He would be a good hire for new-to-the-NFL coach Kliff Kingsbury.

Arizona Sports Station’s John Gambadoro reports the Cardinals interviewed John DeFilippo for their offensive coordinator vacancy on Sunday.

The ex-Vikings OC would likely be just a sounding board for new coach Kliff Kingsbury in Arizona. DeFilippo has also interviewed with the Jaguars, where he would almost certainly be given play-calling duties.

Packers hired ex-Jaguars OC Nathaniel Hackett as offensive coordinator.

Hackett and new Packers coach Matt LaFleur have never worked together at any of their previous stops. But Hackett has plenty of experience as a play-caller and will be a nice addition for LaFleur to bounce ideas off of in his first year as head coach. Hackett was fired by the Jaguars back in November, but the Jags' issues ran much deeper than Hackett, who just the previous year got Blake Bortles to play the best ball of his career. Hackett, LaFleur, and DC Mike Pettine are in place.

Vikings hired Gary Kubiak as an offensive advisor.

Gary's son Klint will take over as quarterbacks coach with Kevin Stefanski promoted from interim offensive coordinator to full-time OC. An in-season power struggle is not difficult to envision should the Vikings start slow on Stefanski's watch surrounded by Kubiaks, but it's obviously a risk coach Mike Zimmer is willing to take. Kubiak is a longtime confidante of Mike Shanahan, who drafted Vikings QB Kirk Cousins in Washington.

Redskins coach Jay Gruden said Monday re-signing free agent Jamison Crowder should be a priority.

An ankle injury among other ailments limited Crowder's 2018 production, but when healthy he has been an asset in Washington. "He's got great quickness in intermediate routes, can separate, has good hands, he's tough, he's physical in the running game," said Gruden. "There is really not anything that Jamison can't do. We have to try and get him back for sure." ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim suggests Crowder could command over $8 million per year.

Ex-NFL GM Mike Lombardi is "not buying" speculation Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray will be an early first-round pick in the NFL draft.

Many seem to be assuming Murray will go top ten, and Lombardi went to great lengths to praise Murray's arm strength, athleticism, and accuracy. But decision makers inside the NFL will inevitably be terrified of 5-foot-9 Murray's stature, and Lombardi suggests Murray making himself eligible for the NFL draft is merely a ploy by agent Scott Boras to get his client more guaranteed money from the Oakland A's, who took him No. 9 overall in the MLB draft.
