According to Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey, Ben Roethlisberger told teammates he plans on playing at least three more seasons.

Roethlisberger had already confirmed his return for next season, but now it looks like he'll remain in Pittsburgh at least through the end of his current contract, which runs through 2019. The Steelers made an appeal to Big Ben last week by replacing his nemesis Todd Haley with QBs coach and noted-Roethlisberger advocate Randy Fichtner at offensive coordinator. The two-time Super Bowl champ turns 36 in March.

Raiders signed K Daniel Carlson.

The Raiders are moving on from Matthew McCrane as they wait on Mike Nugent (hip) to get healthy. A fifth-round rookie out of Auburn, Carlson was cut by the Vikings following a disastrous two-week stint. The Raiders are getting their tank on, and Carlson was good in the SEC, so they are taking a no-risk gamble as they play for draft position and wait on Nugent.

Falcons placed RG Brandon Fusco on injured reserve with an ankle injury, ending his season.

Fusco went down in Monday night's victory over the Giants. Fusco was not having a good year — he had graded out as one of Pro Football Focus' worst guards — but it's yet another season-ending loss for the most-injured team in football. Longtime Falcons reserve Ben Garland is the next man up. Now 30, Fusco is signed through 2020.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports "all options," including release, are on the table for Broncos QB Chad Kelly following his arrest.

The Broncos' No. 2 quarterback has a history of off-the-field issues dating back to his time at Ole Miss. It's why he fell to the final picks of the 2017 draft. The fact that Kelly hasn't already been waived and that it's merely "on the table" suggests he will ultimately keep his roster spot. The Broncos can't be playing games behind Case Keenum, who is a weekly threat to go off the rails.

Eagles DE Derek Barnett requires season-ending shoulder surgery.

He has a torn rotator cuff, which can be a lengthy rehab. Barnett missed Week 5 but returned for Weeks 6 and 7. The No. 14 overall pick of last year's draft, Barnett had been playing well, notching 2.5 sacks on 234 snaps. His loss thins the Eagles' excellent defensive line depth. Michael Bennett will be the main beneficiary of Barnett's absence.

NFL.com's Mike Garofolo reports John Ross (groin) will be sidelined "a few weeks."

Ross aggravated an existing groin ailment in Week 7. The No. 9 overall pick of the 2017 draft simply cannot stay healthy. Ross has seven career catches.

Albert Wilson (hip) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Texans.

Kenny Stills (groin) has also been ruled out, leaving Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant as the Dolphins' top-two wideouts. DeVante Parker should also be active after his recent de facto healthy scratches.

Saints acquired CB Eli Apple from the Giants in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round pick and a 2020 seventh-round pick.

The Saints were reportedly in the market for Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson, but it does not seem like Arizona is open to moving their star corner. Apple had a rocky run in New York and is not near Peterson's level, but he has played pretty well this season. This is a good get for New Orleans at a great price. Following this trade, the Saints are now without their first-, third-, and fourth-round picks in the 2019 draft.

Jets signed WR Rishard Matthews.

This comes just a week after Matthews said he was unlikely to sign with a team this season. With Quincy Enunwa (ankle) out indefinitely and Terrelle Pryor no longer on the roster, this is a good landing spot for Matthews, but it will likely take him some time to settle in. He is only deep-league stash at this point.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Geronimo Allison (hamstring) will practice Tuesday.

Allison appeared close to playing before the bye, so it is not a surprise he is ready to practice following the off week. Barring any setbacks, he should be ready to face the Rams on Sunday.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Randall Cobb (hamstring) will practice Tuesday.

Cobb was a game-time decision before the bye, so it is not a surprise he is ready to go following a week off. Barring a setback, Cobb should be ready to face the Rams on Sunday.

The Athletic's Marcus Thompson reports Derek Carr has a "fractured relationship" with his teammates.

With Khalil Mack and now Amari Cooper out the door, there have been rumblings the Raiders want to move on from Carr as well, and Thompson reports Carr's play and a perceived lack of toughness -- an absurd notion given how quickly he returned from a transverse fracture in his back -- have cost him the locker room. "The belief in him has deteriorated, perhaps to irreparable levels," Thompson writes. "It’s hard to see how Carr can lead this team again." Carr has four years left on a five-year, $125 million extension, but the Raiders can get out with a relatively minor cap hit after this season.
