The Cavaliers announced that Larry Nance suffered a sprained right ankle in practice on Thursday and will be re-evaluated over the next several days.

It was previously announced that Nance was to sit out Friday's preseason finale, but now he's set to miss practice time leading up to the season opener. Nance has some upside in the later part of drafts as a handcuff to Kevin Love and part-time starter at center. Check back for updates as this situation progresses.

Jeff Teague (left ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Pistons.

It's not great that Teague is getting ruled out a full day in advance of tip-off, although the positive spin here is that maybe once he's finally healthy again, he'll be able to return to being an early-round guy. Teague acknowledged on Monday that he only felt 75% healthy, that he initially injured his ankle on Nov. 23 and that it had consistently gotten worse since then -- which is right about the time he started slumping. While he's out, Derrick Rose will fill in as the starting PG and Tyus Jones will see an uptick in minutes.

J.J. Barea (ankle) is a go for Tuesday's game in Denver.

Barea will be back in action following a two-game absence, and he could be looking at extended minutes tonight with Dennis Smith Jr. (wrist) unavailable. He's on the radar as a DFS option with a favorable matchup against the Nuggets.
Dec 18 - 2:32 PM

Dennis Smith Jr. (wrist) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets.

This will be his second consecutive game out of the lineup, and this wrist issue has now forced him to miss six out of the past seven games. He could be looking at another extended absence this time around to really get himself right before being brought back, so J.J. Barea and Jalen Brunson are on the radar as low-end adds in deep leagues.
Dec 18 - 2:31 PM

Julius Randle (ankle) has been upgraded to doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Bucks.

Alvin Gentry said on Tuesday morning that Randle wouldn't be available for Wednesday's game, so the doubtful tag seems like more of a formality. Nikola Mirotic (ankle) will likely be joining Randle on the sidelines tomorrow, which could allow Cheick Diallo to draw the start, and there will be more minutes available for Darius Miller and Solomon Hill.

Nikola Mirotic (ankle) has been upgraded to doubtful for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.

Alvin Gentry told reporters earlier today that Mirotic wouldn't play, but the injury report lists him as doubtful. We'll get official confirmation following Wednesday's shootaround, but in the likely event that he and Julius Randle (ankle) are forced to spend another game on the sidelines, it'll either be Darius Miller or Cheick Diallo earning the start, while Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday will be tasked with the heavy lifting on offense. Stay tuned.
Dec 18 - 2:13 PM

Serge Ibaka (right knee swelling) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Indiana.

Swelling and soreness in his right knee has been a nagging problem for Ibaka all season. However, he's only missed one game this season due to the issue, and that was back on November 14th. Ibaka has been awesome in 2018-19, ranking inside the top-40 in nine-category fantasy leagues, but the Raps may choose to try and limit his workload to keep him fresh down the stretch and into the playoffs. We should have an update on his status following Wednesday morning's shootaround. With Jonas Valanciunas (thumb) sidelined, Greg Monroe would be forced into heavy minutes if Ibaka is ruled out.
Dec 18 - 1:39 PM

Jaylen Brown (bruised right hand) participated in some of Tuesday's practice and is questionable for Wednesday's game vs. Phoenix.

Brown has dealt with numerous issue of late, from a tailbone injury earlier this month to an illness that sidelined him last week. Now he's dealing with a bruised hand. Brown has struggled this season and currently ranks outside the top-225 in nine-category leagues. He can be left on waivers.
Dec 18 - 1:08 PM

Al Horford (sore left knee) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. Phoenix.

Horford, who was officially diagnosed with Patellofemoral pain syndrome in his left knee last week, has missed each of the Celtics previous five games. Wednesday will make it six in a row. Boston has said they will not rush their big man back, and the fact that he continues to get ruled out a day ahead of each game is not overly encouraging. Aron Baynes, Daniel Theis and Robert Williams will continue to divvy up minutes down low.
Dec 18 - 1:07 PM

Fred VanVleet (back) practiced with the team on Tuesday and is probable for Wednesday's game vs. Indiana.

VanVleet was able to play through nagging back pain early last week, but was sidelined for Sunday's loss to Denver. However, he is fully expected to return to game action on Wednesday. Kyle Lowry (thigh) is listed as questionable for that contest. With both FVV and Lowry sidelined on Sunday, Delon Wright started and logged a game-high 38 minutes. VanVleet will likely be re-inserted into the starting lineup if Lowry is unable to play on Wednesday.
Dec 18 - 12:53 PM

Pascal Siakam (back stiffness) practiced on Tuesday and is probable for Wednesday's game vs. the Pacers.

Siakam was injured on Friday in a scary fall and was unable to play to Sunday vs. the Nuggets. Fortunately, it looks that will be just a one-game absence for the sharpshooting wing. C.J. Miles started in place of Siakam on Sunday and logged 33 minutes, but will be bumped back to the bench
Dec 18 - 12:52 PM

Coach Alvin Gentry said Julius Randle (sprained right ankle) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game vs. Milwaukee.

Randle injured his ankle in Sunday's loss to the Heat when he came down on a Miami's player's foot. He was in immediate pain and limped to the locker room. It was expected he would miss at least one contest, as coach Gentry indicated he was doubtful for Wednesday after Sunday's game. Nikola Mirotic (ankle) has also been ruled out, so the Pels will be shorthanded up front. Cheick Diallo will see all the minutes he can handle, and New Orleans will also likely go small, with Darius Miller , Solomon Hill and Wes Johnson playing some PF.
