Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry, Danny Green, Jonas Valanciunas and Fred VanVleet will all be rested on Thursday.

There's no reason to push any of these guys and coach Nick Nurse can cut loose with his rotations tonight, so we'll be keeping an eye on which reserves step up to fill the void.
Oct 11 - 6:54 PM

Kelly Oubre went off for 23 points, five rebounds, one assist, one block, three steals and one triple in 37 minutes vs. the Pacers on Monday.

This was the perfect storm for Oubre, as John Wall (heel) was out, Otto Porter (knee contusion) left the game early and Tomas Satoransky was in foul trouble. Oubre finished 9-of-14 from the field with a single turnover, but did hit just 4-of-7 from the line. Oubre has been on fire over his last four games with 19.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 triples in that span. He's finally showing some consistency and it makes sense to grab him while the Wizards are so banged up.
Dec 10 - 10:12 PM

Luke Kennard scored a career-high 28 points (11-of-18 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs) with eight rebounds, three assists, a career-high five 3-pointers, and five turnovers in 37 minutes against the 76ers on Monday.

Kennard got the start on Monday and played a career-high 37 minutes. The Pistons have been ravaged by injuries, which has called him into greater action of late. Even when fully healthy, none of their wing players have separated from the pack. Kennard could earn consistent playing time with more nights like this, which makes him a name to monitor in deeper leagues. Keep in mind that Blake Griffin (rest) was also out so there were some more shots available.
Dec 10 - 10:09 PM

Lou Williams tweaked his hamstring vs. the Suns on Monday and is questionable to return.

The Clippers are calling it a sore right hamstring and he's currently back in the locker room. Given the opponent, the Clippers might play it safe the rest of the evening. If he can't return, the Clippers will likely let rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander run more of the offense with Milos Teodosic entering the rotation.
Dec 10 - 10:02 PM

Marcus Morris scored 31 points (10-of-15 FG, 6-of-7 FT) with four rebounds, four assists and five 3-pointers in 32 minutes Monday against the Pelicans.

With the Celtics down five players due to injury, Morris picked the right time to put forth his best effort of the season to date. This was his first game of 30 points or more since March 23, 2018 against the Trail Blazers. In his seven games prior to Monday, all starts, Morris averaged 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 2.0 3-pointers in 27.6 minutes per game.
Dec 10 - 9:54 PM

Bradley Beal's 30 points weren't enough in Monday's 109-101 loss to the Pacers.

He was just 10-of-27 from the field with three rebounds, three assists, three steals, one block and four 3-pointers in 44 minutes. Beal posted a 33% usage rate in this game compared to his season average of 26%, a direct result of John Wall (heel) sitting out. If he can improve his efficiency from the field and cut down on the turnovers (4), Beal's owners could be in for a big week with three more games on the schedule.
Dec 10 - 9:52 PM

Furkan Korkmaz scored a career-high 18 points (7-of-12 FGs) with seven rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four 3-pointers in 26 minutes against the Pistons on Monday.

The seven rebounds, four triples, and 26 minutes were also career-highs for Korkmaz. He got extended run after Jimmy Butler (groin) left the game. The Sixers don't have many wings, which gives Korkmaz a chance to make an impact off the bench if Butler were to miss time. He's a name to monitor as we wait to hear Butler's diagnosis.
Dec 10 - 9:51 PM

Ben Simmons scored 18 points (8-of-11 FGs, 2-of-9 FTs) with 10 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and one block in 30 minutes against the Pistons on Monday.

Simmons was aggressive early, scoring 11 of his points in the first quarter. His biggest issue continues to be free throws. He's a top-30 value when removing free throws from the equation, but is barely top-70 when they're taken into account. Jimmy Butler left Monday's game with a groin injury, which might give Simmons some more looks in the short-term.
Dec 10 - 9:41 PM

Tristan Thompson will not return to Monday's game vs. the Bucks with a left foot injury.

He finished with 12 points, six rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes. Thompson walked to the locker room alongside the trainer under his own power, but the severity is not known. If Thompson is forced to miss time, Larry Nance would be the biggest beneficiary with Ante Zizic entering the rotation as the backup center.
Dec 10 - 9:37 PM

Joel Embiid (migraine) scored 24 points (6-of-16 FGs, 11-of-14 FTs) with eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, two blocks, and one 3-pointer in 33 minutes against the Pistons on Monday.

Embiid rested last Friday against the Pistons, missed Sunday's practice due to a migraine, and was experiencing flu-like symptoms, but was in the lineup and scored 20+ for the 20th time this season. He hadn't reached the 20-point mark in his previous three games, which prompted him to vent his frustrations to the media on Friday. Jimmy Butler left the game with a groin injury and didn't return, which would give Embiid a bigger piece of the scoring pie if he were to miss any time.
Dec 10 - 9:30 PM

Robert Covington (right knee soreness), as expected, will play Monday night against the Warriors.

The expectation earlier Monday was that Covington would be available to go, so this development isn't a surprise. In 11 games with the Timberwolves, the former 76er is averaging 14.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 2.6 3-pointers in 35.6 minutes per contest.
Dec 10 - 9:21 PM

Nikola Mirotic (sore right ankle) will not return on Monday vs. the Celtics.

For what it's worth, this is the same ankle that bothered him in November. He lasted just seven minutes in this game, finishing with three points on 1-of-5 shots. Julius Randle will continue logging heavy minutes as the starter, while Cheick Diallo and Darius Miller will pick up a few extra minutes as well.
