Josh Jackson (rest) will not play on Thursday.

It'll be Mikal Bridges getting the start for Jackson today. The Suns have asked Jackson to be a key piece of the offense as the main isolation threat in Vegas, but he's struggled with efficiency -- he's made just 24% from the field. He'll be logging bigger minutes next year with the Suns playing a ton of small-ball lineups.
Jul 12 - 5:19 PM

Kyrie Irving scored 38 points during a 130-125 overtime win at Washington on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, seven assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

He was a one-man wrecking crew with the last 12 points for Boston in OT. Irving hit a contested corner three over John Wall and another 31-foot J near the half-court logo on back-to-back possessions to seal the deal for the Celtics. He missed Monday due to a shoulder injury from Thursday, and Irving did have a wrap on his shoulder in the second half because going off late. The Celtics do have a back-to-back set against the Hawks on Friday and at Detroit on Saturday, so his fantasy owners will want to make sure he's good for those.
Dec 12 - 11:35 PM

Jonas Valanciunas (left hand/finger) exited Wednesday's game after getting hit by Draymond Green.

Green was swiping at the ball and JV immediately grabbed his left hand in pain and headed to the locker room. He fractured a metacarpal in his left hand in 2015 and bruised the same hand in 2017, so he's no stranger to such injuries. We should know more very soon.
Dec 12 - 11:24 PM

Marcus Morris scored 27 points with nine rebounds, two assists and one 3-pointer in 40 minutes against the Wizards on Wednesday.

He's been awesome and he's making himself some serious money this upcoming summer. Morris scored 25-plus points in back-to-back games for the first time in his eight-year career, and Morris did take a quick jab at his brother's team in the win. "We just tried to move the ball," Morris said about the Wizards defense. "We knew that they were going to give up on plays if we got side to side." He closed at the five in this game and should be owned in all standard leagues.
Dec 12 - 11:22 PM

Joel Embiid scored 33 points (12-of-18 FGs, 7-of-8 FTs) with 17 rebounds, six assists, one block, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes against the Nets on Wednesday.

Embiid became the first player since Hassan Whiteside in Feb. of 2017 to have 23 points and 13 rebounds in one half of action, which he did in the first half in this one. He now has five games with at least 20 first half points this season. Embiid also became the second Sixer to post multiple games of 30 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in the last 30 seasons, joining the one and only Charles Barkley.
Dec 12 - 11:12 PM

Marc Gasol had nine points, seven rebounds, five assists, one 3-pointer, one steal and a season-high six blocks during Wednesday's home win.

Gasol came in shooting 31.5% in December, and coach J.B. Bickerstaff said he wants to get him "easy things" in the offense, including more catch-and-shoot opportunities. It didn't happen tonight as Gasol made 4-of-15 field goals. His rebounds have also fallen to 5.2 per game, from 10.3 in November, which Bickerstaff said was primarily due to a lingering left foot/ankle injury. He was solid in all facets of the game beyond shooting tonight, but this is obviously a situation to monitor -- he's been dealing with the foot injury since late November.
Dec 12 - 11:09 PM

C.J. McCollum lit up the Grizzlies for a season-high-tying 40 points on Wednesday, shooting 16-of-27 from the field and 6-of-7 from the line in 39 minutes.

He rounded out his evening with five boards, two assists, two triples, one steal and one block. McCollum averaged 30.5 points vs. the Grizzlies last season and continues to thrive against them, despite Memphis being one of the poorer fantasy matchups. Hopefully he can carry over this performance vs. the visiting Raptors on Friday, but if not there's always the Grizzlies again next Wednesday (Dec. 19).
Dec 12 - 11:05 PM

Jusuf Nurkic was held to two points on 1-of-15 shooting vs. the Grizzlies on Wednesday, adding 10 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and one assist.

The Blazers have lost six consecutive road games and they were doomed tonight by the combined shooting of Nurk and Damian Lillard (4-of-18). His mid-range shots weren't falling and he also went 0-of-4 in the restricted area -- he missed a layup, got blocked by Marc Gasol (once) and blocked by Jaren Jackson Jr. (twice). The supporting stats prevented a total loss for fantasy, and the 51.0% shooter should atone in a hurry.
Dec 12 - 11:04 PM

Larry Nance came off the bench on Wednesday, posting three points with 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, three blocks and one 3-pointer.

Nance played 33 minutes and with Tristan Thompson (foot) out 2-4 weeks, the opportunity is ripe for mid-round value. He's already carving out 12-team roto value with 8.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals, 0.4 threes and 0.6 blocks, and that's in 23.7 minutes per game. Thompson had been grabbing 18.9% of all available rebounds, the eighth-highest mark in the league, so there should be plenty of extra boards for Nance in the next 2-4 weeks.
Dec 12 - 10:51 PM

Kevin Knox got the start on Wednesday and scored 19 points on 7-of-15 shooting with seven rebounds, three 3-pointers, two blocks and one assist 33 minutes.

The rookie was coming off a 26 & 15 game and New York is all about developing the young guys, so it'd be surprising if he doesn't stick as a starter. The bad news is that prior to this week he'd been brutal for percentages (35.0% FGs, 65.2% FTs) while contributing a mere 3.8 boards, 0.5 steals and 0.3 blocks. He's improved recently and said the game is starting to slow down for him, though, so he's worth grabbing to see if he stays hot.
Dec 12 - 10:49 PM

New York's losing streak extended to five games on Wednesday, despite Emmanuel Mudiay's 16 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and two steals.

Cleveland has been one of the best matchups for opposing point guards, behind only Atlanta and Washington, and Mudiay took full advantage. It appears he's locked down the starting PG job but coach David Fizdale hasn't been shy about changing lineups, so owners should be wary of Trey Burke's looming return from a knee injury.
Dec 12 - 10:46 PM

J.J. Barea (left ankle sprain) exited Wednesday's game early and is questionable to play vs. Phoenix on Thursday.

X-rays were negative and Dallas was leading the Hawks by double-digit points in the fourth quarter, so hopefully this was a precaution. Barea exited with 18 points in 16 minutes, having made 7-of-11 shots with three 3-pointers and three assists. His status depends on whether the swelling goes down overnight, so we should know more after Thursday's practice.
