Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance will not play against the Hawks on Friday.

The Cavs won't have their new-look roster at full strength today with Rodney Hood and George Hill also out. Clarkson is going to have more talent around him in what should be a second-unit role, so his fantasy value may be taking a hit. Plus, he is less likely to close games.

De'Aaron Fox scored 23 points with 10 assists, four rebounds, two steals, one triple and six turnovers in 36 minutes vs. the Grizzlies on Friday.

Fox hit 8-of-17 from the field and 6-of-8 from the line and continues to show incredible growth from his rookie season. This was his fourth double-double of the season, and he's slowly but surely climbing the rankings in category leagues -- he's ranked 59th in 9-cat leagues and 32nd in 8-cat. He's been one of the best value picks in fantasy basketball and is a big reason why the Kings have a winning record.

Kyrie Irving took over late en route to a 123-116 overtime win over the Raptors on Friday, scoring a season-high 43 points with two rebounds, 11 assists, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers in 39 minutes.

It's the third time he's hit 40 in a Celtics uniform and he needed just 26 attempts from the field and four free throw attempts to get there. Irving went off in the fourth with 19 points in that frame and talked about what it's like being in the zone after the game. "It’s pretty peaceful," Irving said. The Celtics do get a back-to-back set on Saturday, so Irving's fantasy owners may just want to make sure he's ready to go against the Jazz on Saturday.
Nov 16 - 10:52 PM

Kawhi Leonard scored 31 points with 15 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two turnovers in 43 minutes during a 123-116 overtime loss in Boston on Friday.

The 43 minutes jump out and his fantasy owners should plan on him sitting out for Saturday in Chicago. Coach Nick Nurse would not commit to Leonard playing in that road game, but the Raptors have usually revealed his status in pre-game media talks at least 90 minutes before tip. Leonard has been a first-round player per game, but there's no word of him getting his back-to-back limit dropped any time soon.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored a career-high 27 points (11-of-16 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs) with six rebounds, four steals, two blocks and one triple in 31 minutes vs. the Kings on Friday.

This is the kind of mouth-watering upside JJJ has, yet he just turned 19 two months ago. Fouls were an issue again tonight, as coach J.B. Bickerstaff pulled him with five minutes to go when the rookie picked up his fifth. We can't imagine that JJJ will cede the starting job when JaMychal Green (mouth) gets back, but stranger things have happened and we're talking about a coach who started Chandler Parsons on opening night. Either way, JJJ's fantasy arrow is pointing straight up.

Jimmy Butler impressed the Philly crowd in his home debut on Friday, making 12-of-15 from the field for 28 points with three rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

It was a star performance and Butler came through on his promise after a 14-point debut. "Next game, I guarantee I'm going to know a lot more than I did this game," he said on Wednesday. Butler has been a terrific off-ball player with a whopping 77.8% of his buckets coming off an assist, and he's not dribbling nearly as much. There were some questions last year about how he would co-exist with the Wolves stars, so Butler's fantasy owners shouldn't be worried about him this time because he does so many things.
Nov 16 - 10:27 PM

Donovan Mitchell made 13-of-35 from the field for 31 points with two rebounds, one block, four steals and one 3-pointer during a 113-107 loss in Philly on Friday.

The Philly fans were booing him every time he touched the ball and apparently didn't forget about Mitchell's rookie sweatshirt. His 43.8 usage rate matches his career-high, and perhaps taking just nine shots in a brutal loss to Dallas on Wednesday -- their 68 points was the fewest since 2016. He's been a fantasy letdown to this point, but Mitchell should find his rhythm at some point in the near future.
Nov 16 - 10:12 PM

Tyreke Evans scored a season-high 23 points vs. the Heat on Friday, adding a season-high 10 rebounds with two assists, one block and five triples in 25 minutes.

That snaps a three-game streak of single-digit points. Coach Nate McMillan recently told Evans to stop making the extra pass when he’s wide open, adding that he wants Evans to be more like the player he was in Memphis. "It seems like he’s thinking too much at times out there and not reacting to what is happening," McMillan said. "We need to him to let his instincts take over. I trust his instincts." Victor Oladipo took it a step further, jokingly telling Evans to stop trying to be John Stockton. If tonight was an indication, it sure looks like Evans got the message.

D'Angelo Russell scored 23 points with three rebounds, six assists, two steals, four turnovers and one 3-pointer in 30 minutes against the Wizards during a 115-104 victory on Friday.

He had his best scoring quarter of the season with 13 points in the first quarter. He and Spencer Dinwiddie both had it working with 20-plus points each for the first time this season, and that will be a recipe for Brooklyn's success until Caris LeVert (foot) gets back. Russell now has a big chance to dominate the first-unit touches with some lower-usage guys around him and he's almost a lock to close games, so he should start to trend up in a noticeable way.
Nov 16 - 9:50 PM

Jarrett Allen returned from a two-game absence with 16 points, 12 rebounds, one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes against the Wizards on Friday.

Make it four double-doubles in 14 games this year to match his total from 72 games last year. His 12 rebounds were also a season-high and that stat will keep him on coach Kenny Atkinson's good side. Allen was starting to get into a groove before he was sick earlier this week, so his fantasy owners can probably expect scoring in the low teens, close to 10 boards and around two blocks per game. The second-year big man could improve as the season goes along, too.
Nov 16 - 9:50 PM

Spencer Dinwiddie dominated off the bench against the Wizards on Friday, matching a season-high 25 points with four rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

He's arguably the biggest beneficiary from the Caris LeVert (foot) injury with added usage, and more importantly minutes. Dinwiddie is now likely to close the vast majority of games and he did play next to D'Angelo Russell for 11 minutes in the last game, which was up from eight before the last one. Dinwiddie should be viewed as a must-start player going forward.
Nov 16 - 9:46 PM

Dwight Howard filled it up during a 115-104 loss to the Nets on Friday, scoring 25 points with 17 boards, one assist, one steal and one block in 27 minutes.

He posted season-highs in points and boards before fouling out. The Wizards are a total mess right now, but at least Howard is helping them after their pathetic effort on the boards to start the year. He looks healthy and he should improve, but the Wizards aren't as eager to throw the ball into him like he's seen in years past.
