Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance will not play against the Hawks on Friday.

The Cavs won't have their new-look roster at full strength today with Rodney Hood and George Hill also out. Clarkson is going to have more talent around him in what should be a second-unit role, so his fantasy value may be taking a hit. Plus, he is less likely to close games.

Joel Embiid (stiff lower back) will play vs. the Pacers on Thursday.

Embiid was a game-time decision but he's safe to deploy in all fantasy formats, and this should be a fun matchup vs. Myles Turner, Domantas Sabonis and the Pacers' frontcourt.
Jan 17 - 6:44 PM

Kyle Lowry will play vs. the Suns on Thursday.

This contradicts an earlier report and fantasy owners should plug Lowry into all active lineups for what should be a very favorable matchup. To be clear, Kawhi Leonard is still out on Thursday for rest purposes.
Jan 17 - 6:11 PM

Thomas Bryant capped the Wizards' comeback on Thursday with a game-winning layup, finishing with eight points on 4-of-6 shooting, nine rebounds and one block in just 15 minutes.

The Wizards fell behind by 19 points halfway through the second quarter, after which coach Scott Brooks mostly relied on smaller lineups. They roared back in the final period and Bryant won the game on a bucket that was ruled goaltending. Bradley Beal trusted his 21-year-old teammate enough to find him on D.C.'s final possession, and this is yet another step forward for Bryant -- he's been a steady mid-round fantasy value while Dwight Howard recuperates from a back injury.
Jan 17 - 6:08 PM

Maurice Harkless (left knee) is questionable vs. the Pelicans on Friday.

The good news is that Portland gets a few days off before returning for a back-to-back set on Monday and Tuesday. Harkless will likely sit out one of those consecutive games as a precaution, but maybe the prospect of off days will help him suit up for Friday's home game.
Jan 17 - 4:59 PM

Dewayne Dedmon (ankle) returned to practice on Thursday.

Dedmon has missed the past two games for Atlanta with the ankle issue, but him returning to Thursday's practice is a good sign regarding his status for Saturday's game against the Celtics. If he is able to get back out there, Omari Spellman would return to the second unit and Alex Len won't play as much. Stay tuned.
Jan 17 - 2:09 PM

C.J. Miles (hip) is being listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Suns.

If Miles can't give it a go, the Raptors will only have nine bodies available with Kyle Lowry (rest), Kawhi Leonard (rest), OG Anunoby (personal) and Jonas Valanciunas (thumb) all unavailable. Norman Powell looks like a potential DFS option, as he could see big minutes tonight.
Jan 17 - 1:55 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. (sore left hamstring) will be available to play on Thursday against the Wizards.

It sounds like THJ will be back out there following a one-game absence, which will shift Damyean Dotson back to the second unit and Kevin Knox's usage will take a minor hit. Feel free to get him active.
Jan 17 - 1:47 PM

Will Barton (personal) was excused from Thursday's shootaround.

It's unclear what he's dealing with, but it's a home game for Denver with a 9:00 pm ET tip-off, so he has plenty of time to get back to the arena. Owners will want to check back closer to tip-off for a firm update on his status.
Jan 17 - 1:10 PM

Wendell Carter Jr. (thumb) has been upgraded to doubtful for Thursday's game against the Nuggets.

Word is that if Carter Jr. gets through Thursday's shootaround pain-free, he may be able to play, but the more likely course of action will the Bulls playing it safe with their lottery pick. Still, it's an excellent sign that WCJ hasn't been outright ruled out tonight, and even if he sits tonight, it doesn't sound like he'll be out too long. Stay tuned.
Jan 17 - 12:49 PM

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Tyson Chandler will stick with the first unit for Thursday's game against the Thunder.

The Lakers snapped a two-game losing streak on Tuesday with KCP and Chandler replacing Josh Hart and JaVale McGee in the starting lineup, so Luke Walton will stick with that same starting group featuring Lonzo Ball, Caldwell-Pope, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Chandler on Thursday. Hart may not see much more than 20 minutes as a reserve and McGee could be confined to playing time in the teens.
Jan 17 - 12:33 PM

Joel Embiid (back) and Wilson Chandler (illness) are questionable to play Thursday against the Pacers.

It's unclear how active Embiid was at shootaround, but he's likely headed for a game-time call here. If both Embiid and Chandler are forced to the sidelines, Mike Muscala would be in line for big minutes as a starter, while Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler would see an uptick in usage. Check back for another update closer to tip-off.
