New Orleans is trading Dante Cunningham to Brooklyn for Rashad Vaughn, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.

The Nets do need some power forward help, but the team is probably going to find a younger player to fill minutes. Cunningham can be flipped or bought out, but David Aldridge of NBA.com adds Cunningham will not be seeking a buyout.

Mo Bamba scored 13 points with seven rebounds, two blocks and one 3-pointer in 25 minutes against the Heat on Wednesday.

He was terrific in this game with some face-up scoring, and his offensive rebounding was the highlight. Bamba becomes the first Magic player with at least 13 points and seven boards in his debut with the team, and really this couldn't have gone any better in a tough matchup -- within reason, of course. He did play next to Nikola Vucevic and that should continue, so Bamba is looking like a steal for anyone who took him after 100.

Malik Monk made 7-of-16 shots with four 3-pointers for 18 points on Wednesday, adding four boards, two assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes.

Hornets coach Steve Clifford didn't play Monk nearly enough to intrigue fantasy owners last year, but this season is off to a radically different start. "Malik has great energy, gives us great offensive explosion and potential off the bench," coach James Borrego said recently. Even veteran teammate Tony Parker described Monk as "instant offense" off the bench, and he obviously had the green light tonight. If you need points and 3-pointers, pick him up while you still can.

Kemba Walker lit up the Bucks for 41 points in a home loss on Wednesday, making 15-of-29 shots with seven 3-pointers, four assists, two rebounds and two steals.

Walker didn't get much help tonight with his fellow starters combining for just 25 points on 9-of-27 shooting, but he almost single-handedly erased a 20-point deficit to briefly take the lead in the fourth quarter. Prior to the game, GM Mitch Kupchak tried to quell any premature trade chatter involving Kemba, saying, "Our hope is that Kemba ends his career in a Hornets uniform, and that’s the end of it." Fantasy owners should hope he stays put since he's the clear-cut alpha in the Hornets' offense.

Elfrid Payton hit 5-of-13 shots and finished with a triple-double for the Pelicans on Wednesday, logging 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Payton missed both of his 3-pointers and both of his free throws, but only turned it over one time and added a steal on the night. Payton's excited about the Pels' uptempo style this season and was able to post the 22nd triple-double on opening night in NBA history. This was his 11th career TD and he became the 13th player in Pelicans history to post a triple-double. Don't expect it nightly, but he should be able to rack up a few more trip-dubs as long as he can get the points and boards in such a potent lineup.
Oct 17 - 11:07 PM

Andre Drummond scored 24 points with 20 rebounds, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer in 32 minutes against the Nets during a 103-100 victory on Wednesday.

He attempted three from deep and it's clear the Pistons are still going to allow him to launch triples for at least a little while longer. Coach Dwane Casey let him shoot in the preseason despite all the misses and he made a joke about it after the game. ""He probably reached his quota, but he stepped into them," Casey said. Drummond is also the first Piston player with a 20-20 in the opener, and you can bet he'll have plenty more where that came from.
Oct 17 - 10:58 PM

Giannis Antetokounmpo opened the season with 25 points, 18 rebounds, eight assists, one block and eight turnovers in 35 minutes vs. Charlotte.

He made 9-of-21 FGs and 7-of-12 FTs, and came two boards shy of his career-high. Giannis was a lock in the top-four for fantasy this season, and there was a case for him as early as No. 1 -- tonight is Exhibit A why he's a prime MVP candidate. His scoring, FG percentages and rebounds have improved every single season, and there's no reason he can't take yet another step forward in 2018-19. It's a scary thought.
Oct 17 - 10:56 PM

The Mavericks will start Dennis Smith Jr., Wes Matthews, Luka Doncic, Dorian Finney-Smith, and DeAndre Jordan on Wednesday against the Suns.

Finney-Smith slides into the starting unit with Harrison Barnes still not quite ready to play. There's a chance Barnes will be back this weekend, which will push DFS to the bench. He should stay in the rotation, but won't have much fantasy value.
Oct 17 - 10:38 PM

Jarrett Allen's sophomore season got off to a wonderful start against the Pistons on Wednesday, scoring 17 points with 10 rebounds, four blocks and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes.

Giddy up. The Nets feasted inside with 66 points in the paint to tie their best in all of last season, and Allen's 3-pointers were not flukes as he sat in the corner to pull Andre Drummond away from the rim. Allen's four blocks were not cheapies either with the early candidate for swat of the year against Blake Griffin (video in link below). He'll be setting screens all season for guys who will look to him for easy buckets, so the breakout hype train for Allen has already hit full steam ahead after one game in the season. Don't look to sell high and enjoy the ride.

Domantas Sabonis was terrific in 29 minutes off the bench Wednesday, scoring 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting with 15 rebounds (six offensive) and two assists.

The big man was aided by lackluster defense from the Grizzlies, who allowed him to get whatever he wanted around the rim. He was fantastic during the preseason, so this isn't a fluke, and he needs to be owned everywhere -- even if he's limited to around 24 minutes in a timeshare with Myles Turner, he has enough versatility to hit top-100 value.
Oct 17 - 10:16 PM

Spencer Dinwiddie scored 23 points off the bench against the Pistons on Wednesday, adding four rebounds, six assists, one steal and four turnovers in 32 minutes.

He circled this date on the calendar on Twitter over the summer, so the #RevengeGame believers get another notch on the ol' belt. Dinwiddie outplayed D'Angelo Russell again tonight and he earned the closing role over D-Lo. Perhaps the bad news for him here is that Caris LeVert is clearly the class of this backcourt right now, so it'll likely be a hot-hand approach with Spencer and D-Lo. They are both likely worth owning in most formats until Allen Crabbe (ankle) is back.
Oct 17 - 10:15 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. tallied 31 points, six rebounds, five assists, three treys, two steals and zero turnovers in the Knicks blowout 126-107 victory over the Hawks on opening night.

THJ was able to do his damage quickly, as he logged only 29 minutes in this contest. He was erratic from the field early on but caught fire in the second quarter and finished 10-0f-22 from the floor, 3-of-9 from downtown and knocked down all eight of his free throws. Per Basketball-Reference, Hardaway Jr. is the first Knick in franchise history to tally at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists in a season opener. With the Knicks needing offense, THJ will attempt 20+ shots quite frequently. If he can shoot a decent percentage, his fantasy stock will continue to rise.
