Shane Larkin (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Washington.

Larkin isn't traveling with the team, so no surprises here. He might not play until after the All-Star break, but he wasn't a part of the rotation anyway.

Ben Simmons scored a season-high 23 points (7-of-13 FG, 9-of-11 FT) with 11 rebounds, nine assists, two steals, and four turnovers in 39 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

Simmons was much more aggressive in this one than he was Friday night against the Jazz. Aggressive Ben is the best Ben, especially when he's making his free throws. The 9 makes and 11 attempts are both season-highs. Life might be a little rocky as he gets used to sharing the ball with Jimmy Butler, but it won't stop him from producing across the board.
Nov 17 - 11:12 PM

Jimmy Butler scored 15 points (4-of-11 FG, 6-of-7 FT) with three rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks, and one 3-pointer in 37 minutes against the Hornets on Saturday.

Butler helped guard Kemba Walker and was mostly unsuccessful, as he went for 60, but Butler had the last laugh. He blocked a Kemba layup and saved it from going out of bounds before hitting the dagger three for the win. He's slowly working his way in with his new team, but his role is clear going forward.
Nov 17 - 11:07 PM

Aaron Holiday had his first impact game on Saturday, scoring a career-high 12 points with three rebounds, two assists and three 3-pointers in 15 minutes against the Hawks.

He was big time in the second half after playing just 16 minutes with five points in his entire NBA career before tonight. Victor Oladipo (knee) went down after five minutes, so Holiday slotted into the rotation with Cory Joseph shifting to the wing. It doesn't sound like Dipo will miss much time, but Holiday would likely be in the rotation if the All-Star is out
Nov 17 - 11:01 PM

Kyle Lowry exited in the third quarter on Saturday with a right ankle injury, but coach Nick Nurse doesn't think it's serious.

Lowry didn't limp leaving the arena, and Nurse said, "I just saw him and he said that he twisted it. But he was pretty lively in the locker room." He finished with eight points, eight assists, seven rebounds, three steals and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes, and simply wasn't needed with Toronto leading by 32 after three quarters. The Raptors don't play again until Tuesday and with two full days to rest, we're assuming he'll be fine for that road game in Orlando. He'll be re-evaluated on Sunday so check back soon for updates.
Nov 17 - 10:46 PM

Nicolas Batum didn't score in 19 minutes against the Sixers on Saturday.

Batum did register four assists, one rebound, one steal, and one block. His usage is way down with Kemba Walker running the show and not leaving much for Batum. He's averaging just 6.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 26.4 minutes over his last five games. The scoring might not be there, but at least the boards and dimes are somewhat. Don't give up just yet.
Nov 17 - 10:38 PM

Nikola Vucevic scored a season-high 36 points during a 130-117 win over the Lakers on Saturday, adding 13 rebounds, two steals and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes.

The Magic were in rare form and hit 130 points in regulation for the first time since 2016. Vucevic also has scored 30 points in consecutive games to become the first Magic player to accomplish that feat since Victor Oladipo in 2015. He will continue to put up big numbers as long as he's active, and he's currently sitting on top-15 value on the season in standard leagues.
Nov 17 - 10:36 PM

Jonathan Isaac blocked a career-high five shots against the Lakers on Saturday, adding seven points, five rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 17 minutes.

He's all upside and he showed it yet again. Isaac was on a minutes limit because of his oft-injured right ankle, and the Magic may have to keep a limit on him for a bit. Isaac may not see as many minutes at small forward either, but obviously this kind of line is just too good to leave on the wire in any league where he was dropped.
Nov 17 - 10:28 PM

Kemba Walker erupted for 60 points (21-of-34 FG, 12-of-12 FT) with seven rebounds, four assists, a season-high four steals, six 3-pointers, and a season-high nine turnovers in season-high 45 minutes against the Sixers on Saturday.

Walker notched the first 60-point game in the NBA since James Harden at the end of January last season. He's now attempted 29, 31, and 34 shots in his three games against the Sixers this season. This is about as best as you can do to bounce back from a season-low seven points, like he had last time out. Kemba is playing at an All-NBA level right now.

The Kings denied a report from Yahoo Sports that there "appears to be a substantial disconnect" between the front office and coach Dave Joerger.

The rift reportedly stems from differing views of "the franchise's priorities and direction," and Yahoo's Chris Haynes writes, "Joerger’s handling of 2018 No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley III could eventually lead to the coach’s dismissal." In response, Sacramento released a terse statement refuting the report. "Dave has our full support and confidence," it reads. "We continue to work together to develop our young core and compete."
Nov 17 - 10:13 PM

Anthony Davis went off on the second night of a back-to-back set during a 125-115 win over the Nuggets on Saturday, scoring 40 points with eight rebounds, eight assists, one block and no turnovers in 38 minutes.

Not bad after a 43/17/5 line. It's the fourth time he's scored 40-plus in consecutive games and he matched his career-high dimes in this win. Plus, he also did a great job on Nikola Jokic after the first quarter, too. Davis did have to go to the locker room with a nagging left arm injury in the first half, but he was rolling in the second half to get another win. He looks unstoppable right now.
Nov 17 - 10:05 PM

Monte Morris moved back to the bench on Saturday against the Pelicans, making 6-of-7 from the field for 13 points with three rebounds, four assists, two turnovers and one 3-pointer in 34 minutes.

The Nuggets went small more often in this game, so that explains Morris getting so many minutes next to the guards. He's seeing more time next to Jamal Murray these days and he's playing too well not to see minutes in the 20s most games. He's been phenomenal per minute this season, so he's proving he's worth owning in standard leagues until further notice.
