The Magic have waived Adreian Payne.

Payne had a two-way contract and spent most of his time with the Lakeland Magic in the G-League. He couldn't be any further off the fantasy radar.

Mike Conley led the Grizzlies to a big road win on Monday in Utah, scoring 23 points (6-of-20 FGs, 1-of-6 3PTs, 10-of-11 FTs) with seven rebounds, four assists, three steals, one 3-pointer, and just one turnover in 35 minutes against the Jazz.

Conley posted the highest usage rate of his career in as many minutes as he played on Monday (check link). With the Grizzlies rebuilding and dealing with quite a few injuries, Conley will have the opportunity to get as many shots as he wants. He's a shell of his former self, but will still provide good value to those who took a chance on draft day. Similarly, Conley presents nice upside in DFS formats.

Klay Thompson suffered a mild left ankle sprain on Monday and won't return to a blowout game against the Suns in the fourth quarter.

This probably has more to do with the score of the game than Klay's ankle, but you never know. The Warriors opened up a big lead against the Suns and are up about 20 with less than five minutes left. Thompson is day-to-day, so check on his status before Wednesday's game just to be sure. He finished with 16 points and a 3-pointer in 25 minutes.

Andrew Wiggins says his thigh injury isn't bad and that he plans on playing at Toronto on Wednesday.

Wiggins has played in 331 of a possible 332 games during his career and simply took a knee to his thigh. "I only miss a game if I've absolutely got to," he said. "I'm going to Toronto and I'm looking forward to it." It sounds like he's going to be a go for Wednesday, but owners should check back for updates that day just to be sure.
Oct 23 - 12:24 AM

Dennis Smith Jr. struggled in Monday's win against the Bulls, scoring just seven points on 2-of-11 (18%) shooting with one rebound, three assists, one 3-pointer, and four turnovers in 31 minutes.

After hitting the game-winner against the Wolves on Saturday, DSJ struggled mightily in this one. He couldn't get going and had his worst game of the young season. The shooting percentage is always going to be a drain with DSJ, but there will be better days ahead. Don't panic.
Oct 23 - 12:17 AM

Luka Doncic shined once again on Monday, scoring 19 points (7-of-14 FGs, 3-of-8 3PTs) with three rebounds, six assists, one steal, three 3-pointers, and three turnovers in 36 minutes in the Mavs win against the Bulls.

Doncic dished out his best assist total to date, with six. He limited his turnover total to three tonight and looks more comfortable with each passing minute. He'll ultimately be inconsistent, like most rookies, but he'll still provide good production across the board. The future is bright.
Oct 23 - 12:09 AM

DeAndre Jordan was active again on Monday, scoring 18 points (8-of-11 FGs) with 16 rebounds and one block in 32 minutes against the Bulls.

Jordan went 2-of-2 from the free throw line, making him a shocking 9-of-10 for the season. Based on what we've seen in his 10-year career, there's no way this continues. Either way, the Mavs are committed to using him and he's going to continue to produce at elite levels in rebounds and FG%.
Oct 23 - 12:02 AM

Mario Hezonja benefited the most in Kevin Knox's absence, scoring 18 points (8-of-16 FGs) with four rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two 3-pointers in 30 minutes against the Bucks on Monday.

Knox is out 2-4 weeks, which means Hezonja is a great add in his stead. The Knicks will probably play it ultra-cautious with their prized rookie Knox, meaning it could be closer to the high-end of that timetable. Hezonja isn't afraid to shoot, which he showed in this one, and can help across the board. He took some bad shots, but also helped the Knicks comeback effort. Add him and also use him in DFS over the next month.
Oct 22 - 11:46 PM

Zach LaVine overcame two quick fouls to hit 11-of-15 shots, five 3-pointers and 7-of-8 free throws on his way to a season-high 34 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in 37 minutes of Monday's 115-109 loss to the Mavericks.

The Bulls are 0-3, but where would they be without LaVine? He's averaging 32.3 points on the season and is shooting a ridiculous 62 percent in three games. Most of his shots tonight never touched the rim, and he's completely dialed in. If you're skeptical, his trade value may never be higher than it is right now, and he's a great sell-high candidate. However, he said he wanted to lead the Bulls this season and there's no reason he can't continue to play at an extremely high level. Thirty-three points a night isn't sustainable (at least, we don't think it is), but if you drafted him, pat yourself on the back and try to ride him to the bank.
Oct 22 - 11:39 PM

Kris Dunn made his season debut after his personal absence (birth of child) on Monday and hit just 4-of-13 shots and a 3-pointer for nine points, four rebounds, seven assists and four turnovers in 30 minutes.

He wasn't great, but the boards and assists were helpful. This was Game 1 for Dunn and he'll be better than this on most nights. Look for him to have a little more success against Kemba Walker and the Hornets on Wednesday.
Oct 22 - 11:31 PM

Tim Hardaway Jr. notched another 20-point game on Monday, scoring 24 points (10-of-23 FGs, 3-of-9 3PTs) with two rebounds, three assists, and three 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Bucks.

THJ hoisted 20+ shots for the fourth consecutive game, before fouling out. This was his first game without a steal and he also didn't produce much else outside of points and triples. Notching one steal plus per game would boost his value. THJ will be a drain on your FG%, but makes up for it with his high-volume scoring.
Oct 22 - 11:23 PM

Barring a surprise, Dillon Brooks is not expected to return to Monday's game vs. Utah due to right foot soreness.

It's more tough news for Memphis because Chandler Parsons just left the game with knee soreness. Brooks wasn't a fantasy asset in standard leagues, but if he misses time that could open up things for others. Wayne Selden will close this game alongside Garrett Temple on the wings.
