Alan Williams (knee surgery) is hopeful to return at some point in February or March.

"I’m definitely looking forward to that moment," Williams said of his return. "Man, the emotion involved. I’ll probably miss my first five shots because I’ll be shooting the ball too hard and I’ll probably pick up three fouls quick." Williams had surgery back on September 25 with a six-month timetable, so it sounds like he might be a bit ahead of schedule. He averaged 11.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals after the All-Star break last season, so he could become a waiver-wire pickup later in the campaign.

Josh Jackson went off for a season-high 27 points in a 118-91 loss to the Wolves on Tuesday, adding 10 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two triples.

Jackson has one of the biggest ranges in terms of fantasy value because one night he can put up a line like this and on another he can ruin your FG%, FT% and turnovers. T.J. Warren left this game early with an ankle injury, Devin Booker was ejected in the third quarter and the Suns were missing their two best centers, and Jackson is usually the guy that steps into the spotlight when the Suns are without their key guys. He'll be a boom-or-bust option vs. the Blazers on Thursday night, but his upside will be much higher if Warren and/or Deandre Ayton sits.
Jan 23 - 12:01 AM

Devin Booker was ejected in the third quarter of Tuesday's blowout loss to Minnesota, finishing with 14 points, four assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block in 24 minutes.

Gorgui Dieng elbowed Booker in the face when he was clearing space after a loose ball and things got out of hand quickly. They exchanged words and both ran back to the tunnels to escalate things further, but the arena security held both of them back from what the cameras showed (link below). The NBA will likely investigate this further and fantasy owners are just hoping he gets a fine instead of a suspension.
Jan 22 - 11:47 PM

Dennis Smith Jr. was back in the Mavericks starting lineup on Tuesday and played well, hitting 6-of-17 shots, a 3-pointer and 4-of-4 free throws for 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and a steal in 37 minutes of a 106-98 win over the Clippers.

DSJ was out for six games, and while it looked like he was on his way out of Dallas, it now appears that they're going to hit the reset button and try to make it work. He looked pretty good tonight and the Mavs won, so the experiment is off to a decent start. He's still not a must-start player, but tonight was encouraging and he's worth owning again after struggling through much of the first half of the season.
Jan 22 - 11:39 PM

Lou Williams returned from a two-game absence with a hamstring injury and hit 5-of-16 shots, 1-of-6 3-pointers and 4-of-4 free throws for 15 points and four assists in 23 minutes of Tuesday's loss to the Mavericks.

Williams looked a bit rusty and Patrick Beverley played well again, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander struggled with his shot and didn't do much for the second straight game. Williams should get back on track sooner than later, so as long as he's a go for Wednesday against the Heat, he should be put back into fantasy lineups.
Jan 22 - 11:23 PM

Patrick Beverley hit 6-of-14 shots and 3-of-10 3-pointers for 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists and a steal in 35 minutes of Tuesday's loss to the Mavericks.

Beverley is suddenly hot, averaging 17 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 3.5 3-pointers over his last two games. He hit 1-of-10 shots in his previous three games, but is suddenly feeling it. If you used him in DFS in either of his last two games, the move paid off, but it's really hard to see him keeping this up. He's posted double digits in scoring in consecutive games just one other time this season, and that was when he scored 10 and 12 points in a back-to-back set just before Christmas. This is likely all related to the two-game absence of Danilo Gallinari (back), so if you want to take a flier on Beverley until Gallo is back, go for it.
Jan 22 - 11:10 PM

Russell Westbrook hit 9-of-20 shots, a 3-pointer and 10-of-12 free throws for 29 points, 10 rebounds, 14 assists, a steal and five turnovers in 37 minutes of Tuesday's win over the Blazers.

Westbrook came into this game averaging 21.6 points, 10.6 rebounds and 10.5 assists, so he is easily on pace to average another triple-double this season. He's also been managing his turnovers nicely over the past couple weeks, averaging just 3.4 over his last five games, and tonight was his 14th triple-double of the season.
Jan 22 - 10:57 PM

T.J. Warren will not return to Tuesday's game vs. the Wolves with a sore right ankle.

The Suns are super thin up front and will need to rely on Mikal Bridges, Josh Jackson and Kelly Oubre the rest of the night. Quincy Acy will also play more, but he's never come close to fantasy value in his life. This sounds minor, but the Suns are known for being overly cautious. Jackson is likely available in a bunch of leagues and could be a great source of counting stats if Warren misses more time.
Jan 22 - 10:18 PM

Marvin Bagley made his first NBA start on Tuesday vs. the Raptors, scoring a career-high 22 points with 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 38 minutes.

Nemanja Bjelica (back) sat this one out, but he was fading well before this game. Bagley hit 10-of-20 shots and was the focal point of the offense with De'Aaron Fox (left big toe soreness) also out. Bagley can pile up some points and rebounds and we'd expect him to keep his starting job moving forward, but we wish he was more productive in the defensive categories and a better free throw shooter -- he entered Tuesday's game with 0.9 blocks and 0.5 steals per game while hitting 65.4% of his free throws.
Jan 22 - 9:40 PM

When asked about his left foot soreness, Jeff Teague said he's currently unable to run.

In case you missed it, Teague is out against the Suns on Tuesday night but this certainly sounds like it's going to be a multi-game absence. He added that his foot injury is related to his previous ankle issue and he may need to shut it down for a while and get right. With Tyus Jones still sidelined, Derrick Rose is going to super busy in the short term.
Jan 22 - 8:39 PM

Tristan Thompson (sore left foot) will not play on Wednesday vs. the Celtics.

The Cavs continue to list him as out with scarce details on his progress. Then again, none of this is surprising with the Cavs going all in for a top pick. Ante Zizic remains a viable streamer in most leagues until further notice.
Jan 22 - 8:37 PM

The Grizzlies will reportedly begin fielding offers on both Marc Gasol and Mike Conley.

While the Grizzlies got off to a nice start this season, they've essentially been cratering since December and now own a 19-28 record, which ranks them second-to-last out West. It sounds like we could see a blockbuster deal go down on deadline day with the former cornerstones of the grit-and-grind era, but there aren't any obvious stashes here. Jaren Jackson Jr. would take on a much larger role on offense if Conley and Gasol are dealt.
