Damian Jones has been sent back down to the G-League.

He'll play more in the G-League than he does in the NBA this season.

Kyle Lowry (rest) and Kawhi Leonard (rest) will not suit up for Thursday's game against the Suns.

It's the second night of a back-to-back set, so the vets will be taking the night off against the 11-34 Suns. Fred VanVleet should shift back into the starting unit with Lowry unavailable, and Delon Wright will see an uptick in minutes. Norman Powell could be looking at a start with Leonard on the sidelines, and all these guys are on the radar in DFS with a favorable and uptempo matchup against Phoenix.
Jan 17 - 10:32 AM

Mitchell Robinson (groin) was a full participant at Wednesday's practice and is on track to play Thursday vs. the Wizards.

"I feel like I’m getting close if not there all the way," Robinson said after Wednesday's practice. We should get another update on Robinson soon with the Knicks having a day game in London, but if Robinson responds well to Wednesday's increased workload, he should be back in action today. Head coach David Fizdale said he'd limit Robinson to 4-5 minute stretches if he does play, so he may not see minutes outside the teens.

Stephen Curry went berserk in the third quarter during a 147-140 win over the Pelicans on Wednesday, finishing with 41 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal and nine 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

He hit seven treys in the third quarter in a comeback victory, and it was his NBA-best 23rd quarter with at least 20 points over the last five years. The Warriors and Pelicans set an NBA record for 3-pointers made, and the Warriors are the first team to score at least 140 in consecutive games since Phoenix in 2009. Curry is off to a ridiculous start in 2019, averaging 34.1 points, 5.3 boards, 6.0 dimes, 0.7 steals, 0.3 blocks and an absurd 7.3 treys over those seven. Steph is playing his best ball of the season and the Dubs get DeMarcus Cousins on Friday night.
Jan 17 - 2:09 AM

Kevin Durant pulled down a season-high 15 boards against the Pelicans on Wednesday, adding 30 points with four assists, two steals, one block and five 3-pointers in 38 minutes.

It's his 16th 30-point game of the season and sixth 30-10 on the year. Durant has also made five-plus treys in back-to-back games for the first time this season, and his blocks are back on the rise with at least one in every game in 2019. It'll be interesting to see how KD's usage is affected with DeMarcus Cousins in the mix, but KD is doing enough in other areas to soften the potential blow of Boogie's return. He is a top-five player in fantasy leagues.
Jan 17 - 2:00 AM

Draymond Green handed out a season-high 14 assists against the Pelicans on Wednesday, adding 17 points, six rebounds, one block, one steal, one turnover and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

His four 3-pointers are also a season-high in one of Dray's best games of the year. Taking care of the ball has been huge for Green over his last five with 51 dimes to just six turnovers, averaging 5.8 points, 7.2 boards, 10.2 dimes, 1.0 blocks, 0.6 steals and 1.0 treys. He won't be scoring much, but he's back to filling up box scores. He likely won't be affected too much by Boogie Cousins returning, and Dray himself tweeted out that Cousins was set to return on Friday.
Jan 17 - 1:54 AM

Anthony Davis did a little of everything against the Warriors during a 147-140 loss on Wednesday, scoring 30 points with 18 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, three blocks and one 3-pointer in 41 minutes.

He looked to take a shot below the belt from Stephen Curry in the final minutes. Davis did check out for a couple minutes in real time, but he was able to check back in during this close loss -- no locker room trip, too. Davis' Pelicans dropped 140 points in a loss to become the first team to hit 140 in a regulation loss since 1992. The Pels had been playing better coming into this one and probably should have won this one, so maybe they can get hot in the second half of the season like last year. AD is fantasy's best player.
Jan 17 - 1:40 AM

Rudy Gobert notched his 37th double-double of the season on Wednesday with 23 points (7-of-10 FGs, 9-of-10 FTs), 22 rebounds, four blocks, one assist, one steal and zero turnovers in 34 minutes.

This puts Gobert into a tie with Joel Embiid for the league-lead for double-doubles, ahead of guys like Andre Drummond, Anthony Davis, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Clint Capela and Karl-Anthony Towns. Gobert also ranks fifth in the league with 2.0 blocks per game, and he leads the NBA in field-goal percentage at a tremendous 65.1%. That adds up to top-20 value in nearly any category, and he's a truly elite roto option if you can toss out his poor FT shooting (63.9% on 5.8 attempts).
Jan 17 - 1:38 AM

Damian Lillard (right hand strain) finished Wednesday's game with 33 points on 11-of-19 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, six assists, four 3-pointers, two rebounds and zero turnovers in 32 minutes.

Lillard was also on the injury report this week due to a minor elbow injury, but neither that nor this hand strain have cost him any games. He's yet to miss a game all year, in fact, and has been one of the league's iron-men since he came in with an average of 3.3 DNPs across his seven seasons. Dame said recently that he feels like he's "on a different level this season," and that he's "controlling the game" in a way he hasn't before, which is all fantastic to hear if you own him. He's a first-round fantasy star.

Jusuf Nurkic triple-doubled with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and five blocks during Wednesday's home win vs. the Cavs, making 3-of-6 FGs and 4-of-4 FTs.

Nurk put up a rarefied 5x5 line on Jan. 1 and has averaged 15.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.4 blocks and 1.1 steals this season. Throw in decent percentages (50.9% FGs, 74.1% FTs) and reasonable turnovers (2.2), and that gives Nurk top-50 value in most fantasy settings. We won't quibble with his skeletal triple-double tonight, even if it came against the woeful Cavs -- the stats all count the same and he likely won some weekly matchups for owners.
Jan 17 - 12:43 AM

Luka Doncic flirted with a triple-double again during a 105-101 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday, scoring 25 points with eight rebounds, eight assists, one steal and three 3-pointers in 36 minutes.

He is just locked in as a scorer with 25-plus points in five straight, averaging 27.4 points, 7.0 boards, 6.4 dimes, 1.6 steals and 3.2 treys on a 47/37/67 shooting line. The Mavs are going to put the ball in his hands even more with J.J. Barea (Achilles) out for the season and Dennis Smith Jr. possibly headed out of town. He basically has Rookie of the Year locked up and he could start to creep into the early-round neighborhood as the season goes along.
Jan 17 - 12:35 AM

Spencer Dinwiddie had one of the most impressive games down the stretch during a 145-142 overtime win over the Rockets on Wednesday, scoring 33 points with two rebounds, 10 assists and four 3-pointers in 32 minutes.

It was one of the most clutch stretches of the year with Dinwiddie hitting three 3-pointers in the final 26 seconds to send this game to OT. In the last minute of games with the score within five, Dinwiddie has a 69.6 TS% on a 36.0 usage rate over a 14-minute sample. Dinwiddie is just the second player in NBA history to register two 30-point, 10-assist games off the bench in a season (Jamal Crawford), and this virtuoso performance has to put him back at the top of the Sixth Man of the Year standings after a slump to start 2019. He should be owned in standard leagues.
