The Clippers have waived G Tyrone Wallace.

The Clippers have a ton of depth in their backcourt, so Wallace never had a real shot of nabbing a spot on the opening night roster.

Wayne Ellington (left ankle) and Justise Winslow (hamstring) are doubtful to play Wednesday against the Magic.

Ellington missed all of training camp and the preseason with his sore ankle, and it looks like the 30-year-old swingman will be joining James Johnson (hernia) and Dion Waiters (ankle) on the sidelines Wednesday night. Josh Richardson, Dwyane Wade and Tyler Johnson will get all the run they can handle, with Richardson offering the most upside.
Oct 16 - 2:57 PM

Isaiah Thomas (hip) will not suit up for Wednesday's season opener against the Clippers.

Thomas was given a rough four-month timetable after undergoing hip surgery back in March, so the fact that he's still not close despite being a full six months removed from the procedure is certainly concerning. He's someone to consider stashing away in an IR-spot, but he's a less enticing stash in leagues with a shallow bench sans an IR-spot.
Oct 16 - 2:52 PM

Scott Brooks said he won't be making a decision on Dwight Howard's status for Thursday's regular-season opener until the day of the game.

Howard was able to get in a full practice on Monday, but the back/butt issue forced him to miss all of camp, so his conditioning might not be where it needs to be. The Wizards won't be rushing him back, so for now, we'd say he's 50-50 for Thursday's game. If he's out, Ian Mahinmi would draw the start at center, and he'd be someone to consider as a streamer.
Oct 16 - 2:46 PM

Steven Adams (lower back stiffness) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's matchup with the Warriors.

It's semi-positive that Adams hasn't been ruled out yet, but dealing with back issues before the season even starts is a bit concerning. If he's not able to give it a go tonight, we could see Nerlens Noel draw the start and there will also be more minutes available for Patrick Patterson. Check back for another update closer to tip-off.
Oct 16 - 2:29 PM

Russell Westbrook (right knee) will not suit up for Tuesday's regular-season opener against the Warriors.

Westbrook still hasn't gone through full contact, 5-on-5 work at practice, so until that happens, we won't see him take the court for any regular-season action. Dennis Schroder figures to earn the start at point guard tonight, with Paul George running the show on offense. The Thunder play again on Friday against the Clippers, and for now, we'll be considering Westbrook doubtful for that one.
Oct 16 - 2:28 PM

Frank Ntilikina will start at small forward for the Knicks on Wednesday vs. Atlanta.

Trey Burke, Tim Hardaway Jr., Lance Thomas and Enes Kanter will round out the rest of the starting five. This is an interesting decision by coach David Fizdale, who said he chose to start Frank over Kevin Knox because of Ntilikina's strong play (especially on the defensive end) during training camp and the preseason. Frank's versatility, which enables him to play PG, SG or SF, increases his fantasy value, as it will lead to more minutes. Still, his upside is capped due to his raw and inefficient offensive game.
Oct 16 - 1:40 PM

Coach Gregg Popovich said that Rudy Gay (sore right heel) is good to go for the Spurs season-opener on Wednesday.

Gay was a full participant at Monday's practice, so it's no surprise that he's set to suit up on Wednesday. Gay averaged 11.5 points, 5.1 boards, 1.3 assists on 47.1% shooting in 21.6 minutes per game last season. He should see his playing time increase in 2018-19, as long as he can stay healthy.
Oct 16 - 12:46 PM

Allen Crabbe (sprained left ankle) has been ruled out of the Nets season opener Wednesday vs. the Pistons.

Crabbe initially injured his ankle last Monday's in a preseason game vs. the Pistons and had to be carried to the locker room. The x-rays came back negative but he was seen on crutches and hasn't been able to practice since. DeMarre Carroll is also sidelined by an ankle injury. Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Joe Harris will all see increased playing time on Wednesday night.
Oct 16 - 12:39 PM

Coach Kenny Atkinson said DeMarre Carroll will have a surgical procedure done on his right ankle on Tuesday.

Carroll injured his ankle last week and sat out the Nets final two preseason contests. Fortunately, Atkinson downplayed the injury. "I don’t think it’s a huge thing. It was something where we could go back and forth or get this thing cleaned up and get him feeling 100 percent," said Atkinson. However, the coach was unable to provide a timetable on Carroll's return. Allen Crabbe (ankle) has also been ruled out of Wednesday's season-opener. Caris LeVert and Joe Harris are the primary beneficiaries, and both are worth consideration in DFS formats on Wednesday.
Oct 16 - 12:37 PM

Updating a previous item, J.R. Smith (sore right elbow) is doubtful for Wednesday's game vs. the Raptors.

Smith did not play in the team's preseason finale on Friday and missed practice Tuesday afternoon. He has been diagnosed with elbow soreness. Smith took an MRI which revealed no structural damage. If Smith remains sidelined, Rodney Hood and Jordan Clarkson could see an uptick in minutes on Wednesday. Smith can be dropped in standard leagues.
Oct 16 - 12:30 PM

Moe Harkless (sore left knee) remains questionable to suit up for Thursday's regular-season opener against the Lakers.

Harkless missed all five preseason games for Portland, and while he was able to get through most of Monday's practice, head coach Terry Stotts would not commit to having him available for Thursday's game. Harkless has indicated that he expects to be working with a minutes limit early on, and with limited upside, there's not much incentive to draft him anywhere.
