Raptors waive F/C Justin Hamilton.

He was added in the DeMarre Carroll trade to make the numbers work, but Hamilton didn't have much of a chance to stick with the depth in Toronto's frontcourt. Despite a strong start to his Nets career back in November, Hamilton may be heading back overseas.

Jamal Crawford has agreed to a one-year deal with the Suns.

As reported yesterday, the deal will be for the veteran's minimum. Crawford can still put points up in a hurry at age 38, but his defense has been a disaster in recent years. He has a good shot at minutes, but standard-league owners should look elsewhere.

Hawks coach Lloyd Pierce confirmed that Trae Young will be his opening night starter.

It's no real surprise as Jeremy Lin clearly wasn't himself yet. Barring a surprise, this should be Young's job for the duration of the season. He'll be a great source of points, dimes and triples late in drafts, but beware of his FG% and turnovers.

Myles Turner said he's all good after tweaking his left ankle on Monday.

He picked up an ankle injury a couple days ago, went through most of Monday's practice and tweaked it at the end. He was seen sitting down in a chair with his ankle taped at the end of practice, but we will take his word for it that it's not serious. Domantas Sabonis would see a significant bump in value if Turner's ankle forces him to miss any time.

Devin Booker (hand) has been cleared for full-contact, 5-on-5 work.

"He looked good," Suns coach Igor Kokoskov said after Saturday’s practice. "As we all know, on any level that you play, when you’re recovering from something, an injury, there’s some kind of hesitation when it comes to the contact, but I don’t see that in Book." Booker's initial timetable would have had him missing the first 2-3 games of the season, but with how much progress he's made, it seems there's a reasonable chance he'll be out there on opening night.

Steve Kerr said that Draymond Green (sore left knee) will likely be working with a minutes limit for the first few games of the season.

Green missed the first few weeks of camp with the sore knee, but he was able to get out there for the final two preseason games and he'll be good to go for opening night. Green's conditioning isn't quite where it needs to be right now, and while the sore knee doesn't seem like a major issue, it's pretty obvious that Golden State will be extremely cautious with their main guys throughout the regular-season. That potential for random rest makes Green a slightly risky, early-round target.

Jonas Valanciunas said he's fine with coming off the bench for certain matchups.

Nick Nurse has said on numerous occasions that he'll be mixing and matching the starting five based on the lineup, so both Serge Ibaka and JV could come off the bench at various points throughout the season. "It's actually better for all of us. He's [playing] the match-ups," said JV. "It's not like if you're not starting you're not going to get your minutes in... I'll make sure I hear my name. [Whether] I start or not, I'll make sure I hear my name."

Billy Donovan was non-committal when discussing Russell Westbrook's (knee) status for the regular-season opener on Wednesday.

Westbrook continues to make progress in his recovery from the September arthroscopic knee procedure, but he's still not taking contact, so it seems unlikely that he'll be good to go by Wednesday. The knee issue has caused Westbrook to dip down to the second round, so he could be a nice value pick if he's able to get back to the court relatively soon, without issue.

Tim Hardaway Jr. (left wrist) left Friday's preseason finale, but returned to practice on Sunday.

Hardaway Jr. will have a ton of shots available to him this season, so the Knicks were likely just being cautious with him. THJ is worth a look in the middle rounds due to volume, even if won't be the most efficient player.
Oct 14 - 2:30 PM

Coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that Jimmy Butler practiced on Sunday and that he expects him to play Wednesday.

Another day, another development in the Butler saga. It looks like a trade is unlikely at this point and that Butler will be with the Wolves for the time being. We know he'll give it his all when he's out there, so there's no concern for his fantasy output.
Oct 14 - 2:00 PM

Harrison Barnes (strained right hamstring) will not play on Wednesday but could play Saturday.

Coach Rick Carlisle wants to get Barnes in a full practice later this week, which he'll need to do in order to play on Saturday. Barnes has been steadily ramping up his activity level in his recovery process. With a target date finally in mind, he is safer to draft in the middle rounds. Maxi Kleber and Dorian Finney-Smith will benefit in Barnes' absence.
Oct 14 - 1:30 PM

Stephen Curry will not be assessed a one-game suspension for stepping on the court in Friday's preseason finale.

DeMarcus Cousins also stepped on the court and will similarly not be suspended. The league deemed that the incident, which came after a hard foul on Lance Stephenson by Quinn Cook, was not an altercation, thus no suspensions. The incident was mild, even though Stephenson was ejected for appearing to throw a punch. Had he been suspended, Curry would've missed Tuesday's game against the Thunder.
